Unhappy I AM SOOOOO F@%kin Screwed

I'm just letting y'all know what happened to me today.

Well I'm on my way to work at around 4pm after hanging out with Lost_Concept. I was on the interstate and this old *** woman was doing the EXACT speed limit in the fast lane. To make it worst, she was going the same speed as the car beside her. Even though I was wrong, I took the initiative to cross over 2 lanes to the right just to get in front of her in the fast lane. 2 seconds later as I'm slowing down from passing that old *** lady, my radar detector goes crazy making all these wierd noises and crap. Well, unfortunately I got hit with a laser and had no time to react. He hit me from 910 ft away and I could barely see him. By the time I pass him I'm below the speed limit and I didn't have to brake hard. As I was cruising by him, I thought I was gone free and that I reacted in time. Then he pulls across the median behind me and turns his sirens on. FUUUU*K This trooper was a real bitch too. He pulled me over and all he said was "Liscense and Registration. I clocked you doing 86", then he went back to his car. This was the first cop that I've been pulled over by that didn't even smile. He was mugging me the whole time.
Well the ticket turned out to be $270 and I may have to take the stupid drivers enhancement class.

This is what really pissed me off. It seemed as if he was only pulling over imports. Because at the next exit I turned around to go pick up my pay check from my other job and saw him pull over a souped-up late model Celica. So I ZOOM ZOOMED passed the cop. Then on my way back from picking up my check from my other job, I saw him writing another ticket for this new Altima with some sweet rims. That is real biased.

My problem isn't the money. I'm just worried about how I'm going to tell my mother since the insurance is in her name. I guess I gotta take it like a man and tell her ASAP. I'm just glad he didn't write me up for my clear corners and hyper with lights all around my car.

Perhaps is just coincidence and that, per capita, more soupped up imports speed along than domestics. Thank god.

Then there's the possibility that you ran across him just when he happened to pull these guys over. Could there have been a Cavalier or such in between that he pulled over?

Or perhaps import companies sales are higher than domestic. So again, per capita, there are just more imports than domestics on the road in your area.

If you're thinking the cop is biased then fight the ticket. Worse that can happen is you have to pay the ticket, right?

Check to see if you can take the driving course......in Texas you are allowed to take it once every year...or as long as you have not recieved a ticket in the previous 12 months....you go to the courthouse and pay a filing fee...and it puts your ticket on hold....then you are given 90 days to take the course...and bring the completion certificate to the court house....IF you do that...and pass the course (any moron can), then the ticket goes away...as if it were never written....NO ONE knows that you ever got it....except the state....and the only reason it stays in their records...is so that they can verify if you had gotten a ticket in the previous 12 months if you request to take the driving course...but you get NO points...and it does NOT go on your dirving record...thus the insurance company doesnt' find out about it.

its worth looking into......

IF, you don't have this option in your state.....do as Blue suggested.

the course here in TX is only 6 hours long too....not to bad considering what it saves you in the long run.

as for the cop only pulling over imports....do you REALLY think he knew what you were driving at over 900 feet away? I bet not....he was probably half a sleep in the car and was woke up by the alarm that he just busted someone......

From reading your sig, it sounds like you have a really nice ride man. You should worry more about not wrecking it driving around like that and less about your mom being pissed.

I used to drive the ole SVT Contour like that...but 50mph into a tree will teach you a lesson real quick!

Oh yeah, and fight the ticket...if he shows up say you felt boxed in and felt the only way to get away from the traffic around you was to speed up for a SHORT period of time. I dunno, worked for my friend in New Jersey.

I don't know how it is in MD, but I have a friend who goes to school up here who's from Florida. He says that when he's down there he gets tickets every second week. He just gives them to the family lawyer and the guy takes care of it. I think he said it's like 100$ plus the price of the ticket or something, don't quite remember. Anyways, if money's not the problem could be an idea??

I got a ticket for doing "80+". I paid the ticket and I signed up for an online traffic school. All in all it cost me about $250 and I got no points to my license. Online traffic school is the biggest joke ever. You have to "read" a bunch of crap and then take a test. The great part is that if you don't pass the test they give you all the answers and then you can take it again. Whoopdee doo! Took me about 2 hours to finish that. Much easier than actually GOING anywhere.

Thanks guys for your help. I'll look into that course thing so I don't get the points. This has been a terrible weekend for me though. My mom got a call this morning from her sister saying that my uncle died. I feel so down and I think its kinda making me sick (literally). I mean right now I feel so weak. I also found out that I failed one of my important courses in school. I have NEVER failed a class in my entire life. My 1st year of college is a b*tch. I hope I do better next semester.

But, thanks for the help anyways. I've heard about the online test before. My friend had to take it. I going to try and do that one. Peace.

Sorry to hear that. All I can say is my experience in it. 126kph in a 60kph. Cop marked it down to 119 in a 60. $75 and 4 points.

But I had asked for it. Although its a 4 lane and no parking lots or streets exiting onto it. Just like a highway. I don't get why the speed limit is so slow on this.

Still a little too fast. I don't bitch about the ticket as the cop was only doing his job. Meh.

Sorry to sound like a drag but did you not deserve it? Could it be that the cop pulled over the other imports because they were speeding? I drive behind slow people all of the time and it pisses me off but Im not going to accelerate like crazy to get by them. All the advice may help you take care of the ticket but it may not help with the root of the problem. "Speeding" Youll get another ticket soon. Just remember that you can only take the class once in ever 2 years I think.

I know. I already admitted I was wrong in my story. I was just upset that it seems like everthing is going wrong right now and thing are really getting on my nerves. I also wrote this to get advice from ppl. I also no that the officer was just doing his job.

Hey, about the college thing, don't worry, it's actually somewhat expected that freshmen have a hard time. Don't fret about it too much, try and learn what you can do better. One thing I noticed first quarter was I was too stubborn to drop out of a class I was doing poorly in. I thought it would be bad of me to take less than a "standard" load. Naw, it's no big deal.

I hope your mom is doing alright. Give her a hug

(Don't know if you did this already, but) here's how I told my dad about the ticket. I started off with "would you be mad if I told you I got a ticket?" It's kind of hard to answer that question with a yes (if it isn't bypassed entirely). He ended up telling me "no, your mother and I have both had tickets too, it's a learning experience, etc." Your experience may vary, but I hope not by too much.

Anyways, hope you are feeling better.

I was joking and talking it over with my friend, and now I really think the officer is bullshitting.

The reason is b/c I was doing the exact speed limit behind this old lady (55mph). I went over 2 lanes to pass and I did it calmly not agressive then sped up and got back over. This took about 5-6 secs. I have a 1.6l and its no way my car went from 55-86 that quickly, especially when I wasn't flooring it. That's a 30mph+ difference. I just don't get it.
