I see your point, but look at the championship this year so far. Schumi won all but one race this year, not a single DNF, Ferrari as a team scores points every Grand Prix. I think it was redundant of letting Schumi go past Ruben, even Michael thought that was upset that he got the call. The same thing happened last year, and it is going to have the same result. Ferrari has a very dominant car this year, and I believe that this is going to be that way until the end of this year, and Ferrari will have both Championships before the season's end. I was hoping to see more out McLaren, Williams, and even Renault and Jordan teams. But they can only do so much.
