I posted a thread on what the next thing I should do to my girlfriends motor for a little more power, and all they can tell me is do a motor swap! And I specificly told them without swapping motors!

One guy actually told me to get bigger wheels, bodykit, lower it, etc.

This is her car! It has both wipers, and the eyebrow is now gone.

header, exhuast, and CAI the basic stuff.

there are so man options to go on the honda platform. i'm not sure it that car has the d series engine. those engines don't respond as well to mods as the b series engines.

If you really want to make a difference, skip the crap intake and all that stuff .....

THIS IS THE POST!

ok heres the deal. I'm building up my girlfriends D16Y8 and I need to know what i should do next!

This is what I've done so far.

Short Ram Intake
Header
BBK 62mm Throttle Body
Venom Fuel Rail
Venom Injectors, 10 % over ones.
Fuel pressure reg, and gauge. What sould my fuel pressure be set at, I have it at 50
no resonator, OBX muffler, stock pipe.

This is some of what I was thinkin'

2 1/2 in piping from cat back
Venom 400 or Apexi V-AFC Venom 400 is easier right?
Port and polished head, someone is selling them on EBAY
Venom intake manifold
High flow cat

Which of these would you do next and why?

No engine swap and the Port and Polished head is kinda pushin it at the kinda work I really feel like doing. She drives this Daily.

You can get a Greddy Turbo kit for pretty cheap , check the prices out ....
If i was going to keep the sohc , I guess I would go that route. especially with not wanting to rebuild the motor...

Otherwise , just look for cams , like pseudo said... but i don't know if it will make a drastic difference..

I wouldn't touch this head with a 10-foot pole. Head porting is more of an art than a science, and has to be done skillfully to match the rest of the engine. D-series Hondas have very little torque to start with, and boring out the ports without knowing what you're doing can kill what little torque the motor has and slow the car down. Rule of thumb: Never, EVER buy a ported head from someone unless you KNOW that they do quality work and they can back up what they're doing with hard numbers and/or testimony from someone you know and trust.

EXAMPLE:
Good: "The intake ports on the head I did for Bob's car flowed 75 cfm on my flow bench before I ported them and flowed 92 cfm afterwards. His car put out an additional 15 peak hp with a 10 hp average gain from 5000 rpm to 7000 rpm. His car picked up 0.4 seconds in the 1/4 mile."
Bad: "I'm selling this head on Ebay. I have a good seller rating, yo! My brother ports these heads in his garage. He's been working as a Honda tech for 2 years! I've got one on my car, and I've never taken it to the strip or dynoed it, but it's hella fast, yo! It's an n/a D16 and I can outrun Vipers d00d!"
