hmm...something to discuss about...

There are very little to none drag racers in Japan, but why are there so many here in the United States? some say:
-hell, we don't have as much skills
-We relay on our car too much rather than our skills
-Since Drag racing is considered "easier" compare to the street races they do in Japan they reckon that Us are weaker in Driving skills.

are any of this true? well let's discuss.

Thats because people in Japan can look up to Hachi Roku (spelling?) the king of drifts. If I recall most of japans scene is drifting, drifting, drifting. Over here in the us we can look up to Nascar woopty doo. And besides Japan's cars are so much more better then ours. And they have better cars. Skyline GTR, WRX STi, EVO II. Ahh..........

Oh and they have Initial D in his AE86 =]

Good point Pseudo, if you ask me, Rally driving takes the most skill. Dragging is nothing, and Nascar is a joke, going around in circles, maybe takes skill not getting dizzy. Best drivers are usually German, Scandinavian or Italian..... Someone should go and live there for a bit and see for themselves what it's like on the road there, people are 15x more aggressive then anywhere else you've been..... well not so much in scandinavian countries, but in italy and france actually hehee

Yeeaaahhhh, I'm going to have to go ahead and.....disagree with you on that one, ummmm yeaaah.

You'd be surprised how much strategy goes in NASCAR, yes the track may be oval, but their are many options to consider. MANY MANY. Albeit, the only things I really hear it from is boss, you can tell their is a very high technical level involved. As for dragging, kinda weird how a novice driver and experience driver in the same car could net an entire second difference. I've seen it myself.

Experience plays it's role in all sports. Even rugby(wtf) Just some take more of a different type of skill than the other.

Okay, I see what you're saying, but if I was to put you in a seat (no leather, doesn't recline) could you stand watching NASCAR straight for .....3 hours? I get bored after the first three laps even though I try really hard to focus......

i do not condone violence in any way, but in hawaii, there is an unspoken rule that nearly everyone abides by: the guy with the bigger arm outside the window has the right of way.

lol, my point, those in japan can say whatever they like, but they are not a worshiped crowd here. they might be fast, and have cool looking cars and just might be better drivers, but i would cut off a jap-owned honda b4 i cut off a samoan-owned datsun.

anyone in cali or hawaii might know what i'm talking about. big talk and pride will get you only so far b4 the ***-kicking begins. racing goes on everywhere, be it drag or street, but here in hawaii, mutual respect for everyone's driving talent (or lack thereof) keeps things mellow.

but yeah, corvette, viper and such: top notch baby!
