I bought a PS2 a month or so ago JUST for that game. It's awesome. I have it on my pc, but I hate the controll setup, so I don't play it on there. The mouse aiming is much better for weapons, though.

PS2 Graphics

For anyone complaining about the Graphics on the PS2, go invest some money, get a COMPONENT INPUT tv, go pay the $80 for the Monster cable, then check the game out again.

Funny thing is, ... they actually add MORE to the background of the game. For example, in the 2nd to last turn of Seattle right before you go down the straightaway for pit, there are arrows against the wall telling you which way to go. With just the regular cable (composite or s-video) you get static arrows. With the component cable, they actually alternately blink.

Ummmm... first of all, we're talking about Grand Theft Auto 3. Second we're talking about it for the PC, the don't even make Gran Turismo 3 for the PC. No one complained about the graphics on the PS2.

GTA3 = Grand Theft Auto 3
GT3 = Gran Turismo 3

You might want to re-read the orginal post. We are talking about graphics for the PC, not PS2. They graphics are far behind in the PC version, gameplay however isnt.

I thought S video was supposed to be better than components...?

I thought the graphics in the PC version of GTA3were the same as the PS2 version? Well, considering a decent videocard powers the game.

Anyways, I find the control setup on the PC much more to my liking since the functions do not have to be bunched up, and you also get to use to mouse to look at the complexity of the world. Much easier and less frustrating than with the PS controller.

I have a 64 MB AGP MX400 and the graphics still look like *** on 1024x768 resolution. The fact is, they didn't worry about graphics too much when converting the PS2 version over to PC.

My copy ran pretty slow on my PC. It's probably the first game that I've tried (don't do a lot of gaming) that didn't run well even at 800X600... Oh well, I guess I just have to get some new ****.

The quality for inputs goes composite -> s-video -> component. I'd like to get the monster cable for my PS2, but $80 is really steep just for the video connections

Yea, Vice is going to be hot ****... Did you notice that they had a motorcycle on the cover for it?????

100% is unthinkably good... Does that include all the hidden packages and stuff? I made it over to staunton island, and the missions are a lot tougher than they were on Portland. Hell, I can't even find the bridge half the time to get back over there!!! hehehe....

Actually the graphics look just as good if not better than on the PS2. Problem is, you need a REALLY good video card

Yes but PS2 graphics are highly inferior to the Capabilities of PC Graphics. PS2 doesn't use 'GL' technology, while PC does.
