LOL uh huh. Again, those are stock production cars. They get exhaust and tire upgrades and the obvious safety equipment. That's it. And when put up against "superior" sports cars, who won again? Oh right, pontiacs.
Yup, you could give a regular TBI TA from 1987 a run. Not so sure around a road course. And I am not the best road course racer having never been on one, but at F1 Boston, my first time on the track, I was 1.7 seconds off the TRACK RECORD. I would put a stock trans am against anything in road racing. Especially a MX6 and you driving it. Let me know when you post those timeslips. |
Ok lets square this away. First i said 1988 not 87...second, Standard equipment on those TA's are 5.0L's with 175 hp 225lb-ft torque...this is per Pontiac...I work for Ford so I have access to ALL manufacterers released FULL Vehicle Specifications..and it wouldn't be much of a run...Same HP's for both cars but a 800lb difference in weight..I'd smoke the same year TA in a straight line...A road course would be worse.... hmm RWD solid rear axle heavy car with a rediculous ancient chassis design vs FWD lightweight car independent rear suspension and auto adjustable suspension, with a much more rigid chassis...Also in there hey-day the MX-6 ruled their SCCA classes....as soon as I get a chance to go to Lakeland Drag Strip I'll be happy to post time slips...you also wouldnt be able to provide any info to prove any different that F-body's are LEAD SLEDS...btw..wheres the timeslips for your almost Track Record performance at Malibu Grand Prix, lol

I've wanted an MX6 GT forever! I loved my old DX but decided that my turbo power would come in RX-7 form when it became time for that.
