The only thing my car has that i wish they didn't put in are the POS autop seatbelts. Who the hell was the smartass that thought up this joke ..Jon 93lx

none of those electronic gizmos here hehe:D :bt:
no ABS or any of that shit I drifted the protege a couple of days ago, when it started snowing here in Canada I love RWD... but all I've ever driven is FWD :( (basically an old 1985 626, and this protege....(also driven a Ford Probe GT, Chrysler Neon, Acura 3.2) driven ford 10+ times driven neon about 3 times driven acura 3.2 about 2 times the 626 I've driven about 5 times and the protege I've well driven for a while now.... 2 years (started driving it when i got it in may of 99)(but only 2 years of full time driving it) I love RWD cars tho (maybe the RX-7 beeing my all time Fav car and it beeing RWD contributes to me liking RWD) I can't wait til I get the rx-7 and take it for a drifting time in the snow :D I drifted the protege on saturdsay tho...I'll draw up a diagram of how i did it....hehe...my mom got scared...hehe:bt: well it was kinda like a drift |
Speaking of all of the electronic gizmos...do you guys think removing cruise control would have any benefits? I never use it anyways, so I was just curious :)

here is a quick very crappy drift animation of what i did on saturday that i made
remember the only reason this worked was because it was snowing and it was VERY slippery THE Way I did the picture....makes it look like i started to drift at the end of the turn....but in reality the drift was throughtout almost all of the turn....just not the first 2 frames there was no drifting hey this may not be drifting...but it was still fun and i got the car under control http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/17df9....fF39AiCw4SFUv |
Originally posted by TheMAN electronic stability this, electronically controlled that... bah humbug!!! the last thing we need is more crap in our car that'll a) eventually break b) get in the way of our driving c) add weight I'm seeing more and more cars everyday with that bullshit added on, and it makes me glad I didn't get ABS on my car and that my car has nothing but the basics. I'm glad that the RX-7 and Miata for the longest time doesn't have this bullshit (although the FD did come with ABS, but that's ok). But I said the thing about the electronic wizardy because: A) FWD is better than RWD in the snow and muck. B) Unless RWD cheats using technology. |

I think it was mandated that you either have those or airbags for safety and in the next gen pro they got the airbags. I know for a lot of insurance companies you get a discount for a car with automatic seatbelts OR airbags |
I would much rather pay a couple extra dollars a month then get attacked by these freaking seatbelts lol i will look to swap in the regular kind..Jon 93 lx

Yeah automatic seatbelts = frickin retarded
They aren't even fully effective unless you take the initiative to buckle the bottom piece. I don't know about the Protege but our old car had ones where the shoulder belt came back and then you buckled the bottom one. What the hell is the point? Does it take more effort to buckle the whole damn thing as one unit? |

"IS THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF?" :D |
So you were driving this guys car and did not know how to turn off his DSC system? Because if you are going to race you should at least be familiar with the car you are driving. Even if you have to rtfm.
