if you look back in history....back to OUR roots of rodding cars....you will find ALL SORTS of things like this that just don't translate anymore...and most people just don't understand....but you have to remember...back then....there was NOT an aftermarket like there is today...in fact hotrodding was NOT smiled upon by many at all.

I mean you don't see fuzzy dice, well how about a tiny piston as a shift knob, that was popular too....or solid steel wheels that were only chromed with "baby moon" hubcaps. Mohair seat covers.....putting sparkplugs in the tailpipes and a seperate power source for them so that you could shoot flames out the exhaust, "blue dot" tail lights....Man, there were so many things like this that its not funny.....

Mxyzptlk give yourself a treat sometime....really....go to a hotrod meet or show, and I don't mean just for 70's muscle cars either...a full blown hotrod show/meet.....I think you may be surprised at what you will see, lots of fuzzy dice that is for sure! lol I am sure you will get some Modding ideas for your car today. Try to NEVER forget the roots of the sport you are in.....the experience is priceless.....and very rewarding.

Who are these guys?

http://kitschshop.com/acatalog/black_dice.gif

Is that Starsky and Hutch?

Anyway... they look like two very serious fellas... I wouldn't be caught saying Fuzzy Dice are for fags around those two. Of course, those are "Fluffy" dice apparently, but close enough.

Sir Nuke... I believe THIS WEBSITE is for you... the piston head shifter... dice shaped door locks... fuzzy dice... fuzzy rearview mirror cover... all that crazy stuff

Sir Nuke Apr 9, 2002 01:09 PM

hey thanks dude!! there is some neat memoriblia there.... :{D

yep that be starsky and hutch...in their red torino with the big ass white strip down the side, across the back and back down the other side! lol I remember a guy in highschool that made his terrino look EXACTLY like theirs! lol

Mxyzptlk Apr 9, 2002 07:34 PM

Nuke I see what you are saying. I love hot rods. All I am saying is that I don't see why anyone ever would put the dice in their car. Where did that come from? Did some guy hit it big at craps and decide he would trick out his ride and then everyone else just thought it looked cool? Its just that I don't understand how the two could mix.

Sir Nuke Apr 9, 2002 09:03 PM

Mxyzptlk, ya got me....I have NO IDEA how it got started.....sorta like Poodle Skirts of the 50's....why the hell did girls want a big stupid lookin dog on their skirts! or HUGE WHITE WALL tires, lol It was just a fad......go figure. sorta like audiophiles wonder why in the world people put HUGE subs with HUGE amps in their cars.......that doesn't make sence to them either.....go figure! :{D
