Haha Hawaiian, does it ever get cold where you live?

I just wanted to add a point to distance's post: its that that many crap dealers which are the majority, just bullshit you normal this and normal that. I find that the car has a problem and take it back. They test drive it and then says it's normal, then I go "it's not" and then a big arguement ensues. It's not I like going back the the dealer, I need to drive quite a bit to get there and all they do is sit on their ***, and do nothing.

I think car companies need to realize that not only is the car purchasing experience important, like the Saturn "no hassle" buying, which takes out the stress and worries of being ripped off.

But also essentially important is the ownership experience, the service department especially in this regard.

My neighbourhood Toyota does this especially well. When a taillight bulb went out on my mom's Camry, I took it back, and talked to the guy, he looked up the car and give me a print out of what bulb to buy in their shop, I came back out with the bulb and he installed it for me. And it was free. Not that it was a difficult exercise, and not that I didn't know how to install the bulb, but it is these little things that make you want to go back to the dealer for service because they treat you with respect.

Most dealer however treat me as a kid who knows jack **** about cars.

my car heats up in less than a mile of driving and its around 0 here. i know its less than a mile because my school is one mile away and by the time i get back home i have my heater of due to hot air.

hm well since my fiance owns a focus I will put my .02 in...

he has had his car since the last week of July and it has been trouble free since then... as with a TON of his buddies that have foci as well... I think that its just certain cars w/ certain problems...

I had my 02 pro for 2 weeks and it left me on the side of the road I took it back to the dealer they "fixed" it... 2 hours later I found myself on the side of the road again... any whoo long story short the CPU was bad in my car... and I havent heard of any others w/ this same problem... so like I said I just think its certain cars w/ certain problems

The focus is a great driving car! No doubt! Dealers are totally different! My pro is well taken care of. Ford on the other hand tries to pretend like they don't know me.

Lets face the facts! Focus has what only ~11 SAFETY recalls. Probably the most recalled car in such a short time. Some of the problems that plagued the Contour/Mystique were kindly carried over to the Focus! Ahhh How nice.!

I would drive my protege to Florida tommorow, but would not drive the focus.

Sorry for any focus fans out there, but I own both and Protege still wins hands down. The focus is comfortable and handles well but...... I have kids Reliability is more important. Oh ya, proteges are still better looking.

yeah it gets chilly here every once in awhile, nothing that would warrant the use of my heater (i just roll the windows up)... i think car companies should make cars location specific. like for us here in the islands, maybe swap out the heater for, oh i dunno. MORE POWER???
