Either that or a AC Cobra (even a replica would do) with a 427. I've loved those cars ever since I saw gumball rally for the first time. SHWEET car! :)

mnkyboy March-13th-2002 12:44 PM

I would like a '60s Stingray (Blue/White), as far as new cars, Lamborghini Diablo (Yellow/Black)

azrakain March-13th-2002 07:26 PM

for an old car I would want a '68 or '69 Corvette with the L88 427. Gotta love a car that gets about 4 MPG. New cars would either be a Ferrari F-40 (because I love the twin Turbo V8 and I had a 10 foot long poster of it on my wall for about 4 years when I was in school) or a Pagani Zonda C12-S or maybe even a Skyline with a lot of Mods to it.

I'm gonna stick with my Bugatti Veyron :] quad turbo... :wackit:

Sir Nuke March-13th-2002 07:41 PM

in reality there are too many to pick from ..... however....if I were to pick an exotic...it would have to be the Lamborghini Diablo,

MNKYBoy....too bad you didn't make it over to Houston for the WIC.....there was one there....yep a Lamborghini Diablo, and it was yellow/black too....awsome! AND it was for sale...it was new....it was ONLY $238,000 what a deal!:D

Identity_X March-13th-2002 08:04 PM

Ferrari's and such I don't even think about 'cause I know that I am never going to own one, unless I hit the lottary jackpod which is unlikely to happen since I don't even play the lottary....

I however do like the S4 a lot and the M-5 as mentioned in a post above.........
not that I am going to buy one soon, but........

damn......gotta start playing the lotto.....

Sir Nuke, I see the Diablo that I want every so often around here. The guy who invented Popeyes chicken lives near my house and he has a Yellow/Black Diablo. His name is Al Copeland. He also has a ton of other cars. He loves to show it off.
He has a light show every Christmas, and he parks the Lam in front of this house so everyone can :wackit: . LOL:laugh2:

gujustud March-13th-2002 08:33 PM

Thinking realisticly? '96 Impala SS. I just love how this car looks, specially with big Rims on it. Oh baby...

Other than that, its cousin the LT1 Corvette. (the new style).

Makaveli March-13th-2002 08:51 PM

Lamborghini Murcielago, only black, I wouldn't accept the yellow one. If that was unavailable, I'd settle for a Diablo, any colour.

On a sidenote, for a poor dream car, the Jaguar XKR Silverstone would be good. convertible of course..... those guys are sexy...

Hell yeah.....the Impala SS is "the pimp ride" .......just tint the windows, get 20" rims, get a nice system and you're all set....

azrakain March-13th-2002 09:19 PM

The newest corvetes; 1997-current, C5; have the LS-1 not LT-1. The LS-6 is a moddified LS-1 that comes in the ZO6 only. LT1 were also in the 1993-1997 V8 Camaros/firebirds. Those were changed to LS-1s in 1998. The M5 is a great vehicle IMO opinion. Its as fast as a C5 vette all the way up to almost 150MPH. DAMN!!!

I agree, those maxima boys (i hang out on maxima.org a lot) sure love those M5s... 0-60 under 5 in a freaking sedan is unreal!

azrakain March-13th-2002 11:05 PM

Its a 4000lb. family sedan though. I would agree with the comment about the gearing. But the ZO6 will do like 180 MPH right? Thats good for something, isn't it?

funkdaddysmack March-14th-2002 08:48 AM

Corvettes are also unbelievable machines, the C-5 AND the Z06. Sure, the Z06 is one fast mutha, but the C-5s aren't exactly slow, either :)

That's probably a nice dream car that I actually COULD afford someday. Corvette's are resonably priced compared to other supercars. I wasn't aware of the gearing problems, though. Thanks for bringing that up. The gearing too far apart, or what?

mnkyboy March-14th-2002 12:05 PM

Im sort of a newbie when it comes to gears and such on a car, since my P5 is the first manual I have ever owned. This may be a stupid question, but what do you man by gears being to far apart? Then you say that if they were closer together, the car would be faster? Maybe im not thinking straight, but its probably something very simple that im missing... :)

azrakain March-14th-2002 12:14 PM

basically when you shift if the gears are far apart the RPMs drop way down. If they were closer they wouldn't drop as far and you would be in a better part of the power band; so the acceleration would be faster. The ZO6 does have different gearing from the normal C5...

Aahhh, i see, simple... So how would you rate the gears on the P5?

HubbMP5 March-14th-2002 05:08 PM

The M5 is an amazing car and all, but my all time ultimate dream car is the current M3. I sat in one at the auto show a few weeks ago..drool... It may not be the fastest, but it is very very fast and IMO the most beautiful car made today.

Mxyzptlk March-14th-2002 08:15 PM

Damn. Thinking alike. My dream car is a cherry red 1978 Corvette. If I can't get the 'vette I'll take a 1978 Ferrari any model.

azrakain March-15th-2002 01:16 AM

Why 1978? You like the 25th anniversrey? All the special editions are back and silver. Get the pace car edition or go to a much earlier C3 to get a bad ass engine. Nice to meet you by the way Mxyzptlk.

mixmaster_matt March-15th-2002 08:49 AM

Well, I have always loved Vettes, and my father just bought an 86' Vette Convertible, with the 350V8 and a 4+3 shifter in it. It is beautiful with only 22,000 miles on it. But dream car is a RUF RTurbo3. That is one ballsy car and can go close to 210mph. That is my choice now that the vette is at the house.

freekwonder March-15th-2002 10:58 AM

next year or two ill be getting one of my dream cars. Ford Escort cosworth. I have too many dream cars to list though.

Sir Nuke March-15th-2002 11:14 AM

Okay....I am going out on a limb here....mine...the 1964 Studabaker Avanti.....it was only made a few years...and styling wise...was WAY ahead of its time....came STOCK with a Paxton centrifugal supercharger and would do 160 MPH off the dealer floor.....in 1964, for a domestic to run like that was unheard of. There was a Company in Canada somewhere that was remaking them a few years back, putting GM drivetrains in them and calling them the Avanti II.....to take one now....lower it a little..put nice rims and tires on it...imporve the handling .... would make a seriously awsome ride...not to mention....It would be something different that NO ONE around would have. :D

Why 1978?
Im from Indianapolis. I have always wanted a pace car. Also I was born in 78

azrakain March-15th-2002 11:37 PM

yeah...the pace car is ok...they are all looks though. 1978 only had two engines....180hp and 220 hp. Both of which are really weak for the car....they look extremely cool though.

mnkyboy March-24th-2002 01:21 AM

Anyone have $190,000 I can borrow?
