You don't know that.
Sometimes people look too deep when they find the need to place fault on someone.
I am not saying that your idea is impossible, there is not some way to know what people are thinking. To have the idea that hundreds of lawmakers are secretly thinking the same thing...is somewhat absurd, however.

Truth be told, I don't have a single problem with the idea of going after Saddam... it's just whether it's really PLAUSIBLE do it right now...but unfortunately it might be too late to withdraw . Saddam will try to manipulate anybody, no matter how harmless he seems, he is always trying to hide something or another. That's the way he's been, and I don't think that will change...HE makes his citizens suffer. The reason why we didn't "take him out" the "first time" is that we were afraid that he would be replaced by somebody even worse. I would never like to see any innocent people harmed by an attack... if there was some way this was possible, I wouldn't even have a doubt in my mind about it all.

Now, it's not like I'm a Bush lover, but I'm seeing people thinking that going back to Clinton would be great . I'd like to hear any good things he did. If you say the economy, bang your head on the table. If he even really has anything to do with the state of the economy (read: The Fed, human nature, environmental factors), he screwed it up. Didn't everything start going down BEFORE he left office? Aren't we finding out that a lot of those big stocks were turning out to be fraudulent? I'd just like to know what people find good about him. (If you tell me helping push environmental bills through Congress I will give you a 'cause I like that )

I want to track down one of my old professors... and find the name of a certain movie he showed me. It will help show the truth about almost EVERY politician (using examples from Clinton as he was the president at that time).

Edit:: I ask that before you respond you **PLEASE** read these, there is a LOT of interesting information, the second one including statements of the aformentioned General Schwarzkopf. It might take a while to read, but wouldn't you rather make an informed statement?

And people have a good point about North Korea -- the problem is that this situation arose while we were still dealing with Iraq -- so the best bet would be to try and hold any action by either North Korea or the U.S. off until we decide what will happen with Iraq. You can't just have the actions of the government just flip-flopping from one to another...so far Kim Jon Il has not shown evidence (as far as I know) that he is a megalomanic as Saddam is, even though we know he is quite capable of many things. That's another reason why he is getting the back-burner.

(And note in a lot of places I should say "in my opinion", I think you get the point)
