Check out Jan. SCC!
They have 2 nice photos of the 2001 Mazda ProRally car in the Jan. issue of Sport Compact car under the Ojibwe Forests ProRally article. Look for a feature article on the car in an upcoming issue!

i saw that and i was gonna post, but ya beat me to it
nice pics of the Pro too, i like the first "action" shot....
I haven't gotten around to reading the article yet, so my question may have already been answered, but why is Mazda so down on points?
Anyway, nice to see a Protege out there beatin a path...good luck!!!

Yeah, the points graph there doesn't tell the whole story...
Hyundai, Mitsu, Sub, and Mazda were the only manufacturers entered in the Manufacturer Championship. The rest of those companies ran multi-car teams the entire season to accrue that many points. We, on the other hand, didn't even get a car to start building unti April. We hustled on the build and had it running by August for the Ojibwe Forests ProRally, but by then the season was nearly over. We managed a 3rd in Group 2 class (2L, 2wd, NA) on that, its maiden voyage. Not bad for a car I didn't even get a chance to drive on gravel before the event!
So that points graph you see is the result of our 1 car doing 1 rally compared with the other teams who ran 3 carse each in 7 rallies. That's 21 times the opportunity for points!!
In the driver's championship, however, I got 3rd for the year in G2 since I started the season in my old VW GTI and got a first and a second at the beginning of the season.
We will be doing the full season in 2002, so keep your eyes open. Michigan, Tennesee, Oregon, California, Pennsylvania, Maine, Minnesota, Washington, and finally, Michigan again. Check out www.sccaprorally.org for more information and a schedule of when we're racing near you!
Cheers!

Darryl and everyone,
The CA rally you speak of is in Palmdale. North of LA. Check out www.rimoftheworldrally.com for lodging, schedule, etc.
First rally of the year is the Sno*Drift in Atlanta, Michigan in January. Got a bit of work to do before then.
