Bowling Ball Names

I want to name my bowling ball. It is black; the brand is Scout. First off, should it be male or female? And second, do you guys/gals have any suggestions for what I should name it? Thanks!

I have a black ebonite ball, and I nickname it ebony, and it has given me many successful outings. It has also taken much abuse in my not so great outings, usually when I am really drunk.

No shit man? Is there anything we really have to do to maintain our balls? Mine is urethane and I just use it and stick it in the bag till next time...no cleaning. Good or bad?

mixmaster_matt December-8th-2002 07:40 PM

It is always good to clean it once in a while, i will do it like once every two months. I usually go on Monday nights, so we can watch the football game while we bowl. At our alley, they have those automatic ball cleaners in the pro shop, just use those if you have them, they work great.

My ball weighs 14 lbs. And I am looking for suggestions for names!

snart@work December-9th-2002 08:33 PM

14lbs is def a man. Do you have any particular requirments for the name (Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, and so on)???

THEGOLDPRO December-9th-2002 08:34 PM

call it "THE FEAR" lol

gcs118 December-9th-2002 08:58 PM

I just really want a cool name for it...I don't care what country it's from as long as it sounds good. I'm also looking for a real name, not "The Fear" ;) although it was a good suggestion. :)

THEGOLDPRO December-9th-2002 09:01 PM

the fear is a real name. im kinda upset that you turned down my name. :(

gcs118 December-9th-2002 09:02 PM

Who names their kid "the Fear"? I want names kinda like Phil, or maybe Sasquatch...something creative or original kinda.

PS ... sorry GoldPro, no hard feelings man :)

THEGOLDPRO December-9th-2002 09:21 PM

Name it Shyte. That way you can go " go shyte go!!" or "curve you little shyte"

snart December-10th-2002 12:29 AM

Maybe some of these....

Tyson
Julio
Moe
Yambo
Fernando

Just some ideas....

HEY!!! Whats your high score??? I managed a 243 last week, that kinda sucked though cuz I was playing my grandma and she bowled a 274!!!!! The ol' lady kiked my ass!!;) Do you bowl in any leagues or anything???

Sir Nuke December-10th-2002 12:40 AM

well there is no doubt it needs to be a GUY name....ANYTHING with 14 pound balls is DEFINATELY MALE! LOL

gcs118 December-10th-2002 07:38 PM

You know of all the great names offered, I think Toby is the best so far! And I just recently got into serious bowling a couple months ago. I've done it for a hobby for years, but that was once every few months, if even. So my high right now is a 198, but it will improve, I guarantee it! It gets better every other week or so it seems. Hey, I won't complain. Looks like my ball (Toby?) is doing me well so far. :D

shackmgr6073 December-12th-2002 11:40 AM

Dave, name it Dave!!!!!!

THEGOLDPRO December-12th-2002 02:30 PM

hell yeah he named it my name. lol

LOS-323 December-12th-2002 03:46 PM

I bowled 207 last night. First time I cross the 200 barrier.
Hope I can make a habit of it.

gcs118 December-12th-2002 05:41 PM

Awesome work, I can't wait to break the 200 barrier...hopefully when I go Friday (crosses fingers). I went the other night and did just awful...all my games were between 110-140. After a few I got pissed and just quit : ) Plus I ran out of money... :(

I joined a league a while back. It really helps because you sometimes end up in a team with experienced bowlers who can give you some pretty good tips.

gcs118 December-13th-2002 04:21 PM

I'm on the bowling team at my school, but the coach just sucks. All he has done so far is cut people. He hasn't instructed us in ANY way of form, technique, consistency, proper fit, etc. I think sometime I am gonna go to the pro-shop guy cuz when I got Toby, my ball, he was really cool and showed me how to curve and stuff. I just need more advice.
