LOL Dale! Yeah, I know where to go and what to say if I really wanted a flame war and it wouldn't be here!

It's funny ... I help moderate a forum with almost 25K posts and I can only think of less than a dozen posts that were inflammatory enough to need attention. You see it can be done - it's just the mindset of the members and what they want to get out of their club.

You are both good guys, but you're personalities don't seem to mesh, hehe.

People obviously have different opinions of things, you have to respect *that* too. I think jesse has his points, and people do make impression based on how you write. But I don't really have a problem with your posts because they are mostly one or two sentences only, not TOO hard to figure out.

Enlarge your average message length 10x and then it really gets annoying.

Sometimes you gotta figure out a way to tolerate each other. Hence why some people get totally pissed at theMAN, and never come back, and others don't really care

I'm just trying to say
you can listen to jesse, or just ignore him, I'd figure that's something you have to use in life too. Or maybe I'm just that way 'cause I was always the subject of the bully.

P.S. Jesse, I think that's ulterior motive!

i don't surf here too often, but thought i'd just post my 02. cents....

i come from this, if i don't like what you have to say, i move on, i don't have time to waste. I won't flame you, i won't even think about you, your gone, passed by, done with....It's not worth my time to correct someones grammar, of beliefs. I offer suggestions, advice and humor....

If the cause of your anger is with ppl on this board, dude, turn the switch on your computer OFF, read a book, watch a movie, go to a club, drive your car, hang at the beach, bend your babe over a table.... or grab your studman and do the nasty.....you get the idea

flame this flame that, for me, i don't give a rats ***. I am an observer and a stealth fighter. i watch to see whats going on, analyze and then react....not always coherently, but i'm human too My advice, try to just scroll down and ignore stuff that you find a peeve, simple as that. If you don't like the person, say so, state your facts and move on, don't keep dragging it out, please.

And FWIW, i respect Jesse very highly as a provider of usefull info and dedication in research finding it. You need to see the humor in it all to realize how cool he really is. Use the force luke, use...the...force....

There are many folks that have a bounty of usefull info hidden beneath a sense of humor and wierd self being....you just need to learn how to unleash it. Being nice never hurt anybody and smiling is not bad for you, despite what cosmo might say...LOL (you pick this stupid **** up when you live with chicks) hell you might even make a new friend out of it!

now **** off and have a nice day!!!!

P.S. Fossilboy...dude, you sure have a gift for writing and antidotes (Jesse, needa spell check....just kiddin bro, you know me... ) i thouroghly enjoyed reading your post, very humorous. Had me in stiches.

I think that Jesse has some very valid points.
I'm relatively new to tuning and I'm guilty of asking some dumb questions. Even though I ask the same questions that have undoubtedly been asked a thousand times before, I never get personally attacked by anybody.(well, maybe once or twice) I try to keep in mind that the majority of people on this forum are in their 20's, and if you hang out with ANY group of 20 year olds, there's gonna be some friendly heckling. I've learned that it's best to just take it with a grain of salt and laugh it off.
I think your writing style is the only way for people around here to judge you, so if your writing's sloppy, so is your persona. For some, it might be cool to be "in the hizz-ouse", but for those of us that don't listen to rap/hip-hop, it's just plain funny to read. I listen to reggae music, but I'm not gonna start quoting songs or trying to write like Bob Marley spoke. That would be stupid, because I'm a guy from the California suburbs, and Bob was a guy from the Kingston ghetto. I love his music, but I'm not trying to BE Bob, just have his ideas rub off on me a little, and enjoy his music.

most of the people who are responding to this thread, are members that have been around awhile, and know how jesse, and jon, and theman are, we mostly find humer in there threads. But the ones who are directly effected by the flaming is the new guys, the kids who have no clue who we all are. They are the ones who are never coming back, and shrug us all off as ********, because we pissed them off and flamed them when they first came here.

they are the future of the site, one day they will have 2000 posts, and people will look upto them for answers, if all the senior guys do is flame people, the younger guys are going to be cocky, and do the same things. and thats going to make this site go to hell.

Im too lazy to look threw 10,000 posts on honda vision. But u remember when u posted something like why do i care how my car looks i drove a protege for 4 years or something along those lines. I remember because my roomate was asking me why a protege mod would be talking down on proteges. But whatever jesse u win

I agree with u Ben ive seen some harsh comments from moderators on this board to newbies. Its like they get jumped by gorrilas. Maybe we should make a newbie page that they have to read to join that has every stupid question already taking care of where to buy intakes ,Exhaust, led lights, what size rims they have, how much power there cars have u get the point. Make a newbie section ..Jon

There's already one here. THE MAN keeps talking about it.
It's the Protege FAQ.

Mr. GoldPro makes an excellent point, and one that I've tried to make to moderators privately in the past. The moderators set the tone; they have to lead by example.

And in the interest of increasing the peace and harmony in the forum, I've changed my avatar back from HK flipping the bird, to HK happily waving to her Protege-loving friends. (Although my disclaimer still stands: Hello Kitty is NOT a fucktard.)

Now go play nice!!

Life is too short!!

What is a fucktard anyway?! Nevermind ... I get the idea! Funny, I never heard that term until I came here, if that tells you anything. Which brings me into a point of agreement with Dale - the mods and admins DO set the tone for the forum. When they're calling people such names, either directly or implied, it just doesn't seem right. It's one of the first things I noticed when I came here, but I got past it. The newbies who really want to contribute and have 2000 posts and be someone whom others look up to eventually will get past it too. This is just a different place than other forums. I suppose if you're that thin-skinned then "oh well". But I also subscribe to Darryl's philosophy (well, maybe not the part about the studman ) , so lighten up and enjoy your forum. Again, it's all about what the members, and the ones in charge, make of it.

Btw, I think Jon has a great idea about a "newbie only" forum. I've seen this work really well on Autopia.org (an auto detailing forum). You can imagine a board like that has many, many repeat questions. It could work here too. The people that want to participate and help can do so, or if not, just ignore that section completely (kind of like the way I usually ignore this board ). The FAQ is excellent too, but I think the main reason it's gets missed is as simple as where it's located on the home page. If it was moved down into the body of the forum like the other boards, then advertised like this: "Newbies start here - everything you ever wanted to know about your Protege", you'd get a lot more people to look at it.

We should sentence TheMAN to 1500 threads in the Newbie Section, see if he goes crazy
