i know how it goes sometimes. While I wish you luck with your financial situation I don't wish you much success selling the car\1

HAHAHAHA thanks Matty...I do love this car and part of me wishes it doesnt sell just because it SO fun to drive. I was hoping to get headers and a WOMPer for it...lower it a touch more and get some wider wheels as well...the way I see it is if it doesnt sell I still have a great car to see me through....but if it does then I can get something equally as fun and w/o the car payments...

yeah, have you thought about parting it back out to get some money out of it but still keep the car?

...did you give any thought to re-financing what you owe on it? If you stretch your payments out to 60 months for the amount you owe today, it is going to be a much smaller payment in the end. The bank will be happy to do it, since they stand to make more money off of you in the long run. You can keep your car, and (when you are able) doubling up on the payments will take a chunk out of the interest that you will have to pay.

Its through Mazda American Credit...I may see what they can do....

I cant part it out because I haven't added anything *excpet intake and bolts* to it..so I have NO stock parts to replace the mods...i'd rather drive a neon than a stock Protege everyday....Im too spoiled by my suspension

seriously man!! thatsa good idea.. refinance and you'll basically satisfy your loan with MNAC and get a good credit bump and then you'll get to develop more credit with another institution which will look good as well. The problem is that you'll be paying longer but you won't have the strain that you have currently.

$12K owed refinanced by 4 years = $3K/year + interest. you're looking at $250+interest which is usually 5-6% (roughly $262/month)....would that help you out??

I just refinanced mine.. was paying around 8.5% (all i could get!) - now it's going to be 4% - but i plan on making double payments. payments dropped by $25-30 (cant' remember...)

Interest rates are low right now. I bought a car for my Fiance a few months back, and scored a 3.85% rate through Chase Automotive Finance. That's darned low for a used car, pushed out to 60 months.

And in all honesty, we also want to keep you around, because we enjoy what you contribute to this club.

Yeah, Shawn, I've been though some serious financial hardship myself in the past, so I feel it.
If you can refinance your car, well, you should at least try, if your credit is fairly good.
It's better to refinance to a payment you can afford than have the car taken from you by the bank if you get behind.
Assuming you can't sell it, that is.
