PO753 Code: Shift Solenoid A

Our 2010 Mazda 3 codes intermittently that shift solenoid A is faulty. Sometimes it will reset and work correctly but sometimes not. My initial attack will be to drop the pan to check and replace the fluid and filter. I will also ohm out the shift solenoids. My question is, anyone out there familiar with these solenoids and are screens in place to keep the solenoids clean? My thinking is the solenoids are ok but the fluid is so contaminated with debris that, sometimes, the solenoid is prevented from shifting. Just a thought.

After I changed the fluid, filter and checked all the solenoids, which were all good by the way, the issue still occurred. I remembered an old Toyota four runner we used to own that would not shift into OD until the engine coolant reached a certain temperature. To check this out with the Mazda, I warmed the car up this morning before driving it to work, just about a ten minute warm up. Drove the car all the way to work with no issues, no codes. Drove the car home, about 45 mile commute, and same thing. All previous codes, stored, pending are gone. So, I guess it is an issue with warm up. Temperature switches are working, obviously, but may be dirty or corroded or just old. The two sensors I know of are the coolant temp. switch and the TFT, transmission fluid temperature, switch. Anyway, hope this may help someone out. I'm gonna pull the coolant temp switch, check it and clean it. Otherwise, I'm going to leave it as is.

Hello, Im experiencing exactly same issue. I have replaced the fluid and filter, checked all the solenoids and TCM was repaired (apparently). Issue stills. Don't know what else to do.

Did you figured it out what it was and fixed ?

Same issues

My car keeps going into limp mode. I sent the TCM out to be repaired and it was fine for a couple days, but the problems are back.

Has anyone found a fix?
