exhaust question

Ok I've spent about 2-3 hours watching YouTube videos and then looking at pricing for different exhaust setups. I think the Magnaflow sounds the best but I'm not spending $800 on exhaust for my wifes car (I did however spend that on my RX-8)

I was wondering if there were any tricks to get better sound out of the stock exhaust...we had a Chevy Trailblazer and cut off the second muffler (actually called a resonator) at the back and just added a piece of pipe with a nice tip on it and it sounded AWESOME!

Thanks for your time

The guy wants his exhaust to sound better without putting on a big ricey fart can. You could give him some advice, like maybe to buy a hi-flow cat or something, but to get all butt hurt from some guy on the internet asking for advice is just plain funny.
