CAI for the Streets
I just purchased an 06 Mazda 3 Hatchback. I would like to give it a little hp boost but not for racing, but for my personal enjoyment of driving about.
I would like your opinion as to what to buy based on:
Street driving
Low to middle range rpm hp boost
A filter that's reusable/washable and doesn't require oil
And make a good purring sound
Thanx,
Ron

For the most part they're all the same. Stay away from the Fujita F5, the large diamater of the tubing pulls more air in than what the stock sensor likes. Don't expect any low-end hp gain, typically you'll only notice a gain in the mid to high rpm range starting around 3500rpm's, it's a small gain. Your better off if you invest that money into a rear swaybar, bakes ect... On the track, $ for $you'll see faster lap times with suspension upgrades than any intake could give. They do sound cool though, check out kangaroboy on this fourm, he sell's Samota intakes, I've heard nothing but good feedback on this product and they really dress up the engine bay.
