CAI problems

Just installed my new CAI today and now my car idles funny and acts like it wants to die. Has anyone else had this problem and how can I fix it

I heard you might need to reset the computer by unhooking the negative on the battery, wait a few mins and then bolt it back on.

something about the computer running the engine on the stock intake settings instead of the more air flow its receiving throwing the ratios off.

It might be MAF sensor, try to start the car and keep it running and just disconnect the sensor and if the car won't shut down, you need new MAF sensor

They're both right. The new intake allows more air into the mix, so now your MAF isn't sending enough fuel (making the car run rough) because it's still set to work with the stock intake. Easily fixed. :)
Unhook the battery, pump the brakes a few times to drain the capacitors, wait 10 min or so, hook the battery back up, start the car, and let it idle for 10 min. The MAF will "relearn" the new AFR and your car will now run fine.

but why pump the brakes i don't really get thar part :-)

Pumping the brakes turns on the brake lights, draining any charge left in the capacitors after you unhook the battery. :)
