tectonics shifting

i just got an 07 m3s 5-door and iv been playing around with the whole manual shifting feature it has. but iv never drivin a real manual yet because im only 17 and havent had a car to practice on yet. but i would really apreciate some "do's and dont's" on what will mess up my engine and stuff like that. alot of you guys seem to have the standard m3's but anything helps.

and also, would it be a waist of money to put performance parts in my m3 sense its an auto?

you won't mess up your shifter or tranny playing around with the tip-shift. lol, that's what it's there for! :D

If I were you, I'd get some suspension stuff...Maybe a set of Eibachs and a rear swaybar.. :)

The tranny should be set up to keep you from being able to downshift into too low a gear depending on your speed. i.e.- you can't shift into second at highway speeds.

I've only driven one manumatic car, and was pretty disappointed in how it worked. I'm a diehard MTX person though, so don't take that personnaly.

Have fun, and enjoy your car......... and learn to drive stick as soon as you can. ;)

the fastest 4cyl I've ever owned was an automatic. Mods aren't "useless" but more expensive.

wow, you thought a quality turbo kit would be $1K?? I suggest you take everything REAL slow from now on until you get a little more knowledge behind you.

Tsquad September-28th-2006 11:25 PM
