question on A/c

does anyone ever feel/hear a lot of pressure on the engine when you put the a/c even on the 1st setting. it is kind of loud i wasnt sure if it was wrong or normal for a 4 cylinder. the a/c will start and stop every so often and i can feel the a/c kick on and off when i shift and downshift.....anyone here knows?

the speed setting has nothing to do with the AC system...just the blower motor speed. When the AC is used ANY the compressor clutch will engage and disengage as needed. This is a BIG draw on your engines power. As much as 10% power loss when AC is running.

I used to joke in my P5 that turning off the AC was about equal to turning on a turbo. The car would run like crap up a hill with the AC on....turn it off and it pulls like a champ.

Or just go full throttle and it turns off the AC
