I have tried to figure out what the difference is between the 2.0l and the 2.3l. As far as the information that I've found is that there are a few things that don't line up with the connectors. The alternator wires are too short. The air solenoids are on the side rather than the front. I know that the engines must have come from the same transmission type. AT 2.0l swapped with a manual 2.3l causes issues.

Has anyone actually swapped a 2.0l with a 2.3? I'm curious if there is much modifications or part swap over to make it work? Does/did the EMM a 2.0l work with a 2.3l? Or did the EMM have to be reflashed the 2.3l engine.

My 07" 2.0l has almost 240,000 miles. It's starting to use a little more oil as the miles keep climbing. I've driven this car all over the US and have not had any major engine issues. I want to get another engine and have it prepped to be drop and go status. I would like to add a little extra spice.
