New Mazda3 Sedan version!!!!

http://forum.caranddriver.com.hk/dow...5/a3080396.jpg

The car looks good except why they have to design the rear passenger windows shape like the stupid looking Saturn Ion and the new Nissan Maxima.

The side looks a bit like an older Neon too.

The inside:

It's so much better proportioned than the 6 too

misbehave August-30th-2003 09:35 PM

Yes, I agree that it looks extremely good for the econ-class sedan.

It's doesn't look like a under20K econ-class sedan anymore.

Doodsmack August-30th-2003 10:21 PM

Wonder how the aftermarket support will be...sweet gauge cluster.

misbehave August-30th-2003 10:31 PM

It's time for Mazda to have full scale strike to beat up all the Civics.:D

It looks very high end and substantial for it's size, I like it.

Hopefully by the time it reaches our shores it looks the same.

I think not.

Just take a look at how much stuff they have stripped off from the P5 as an example.
I have a post here in another page showing how much they have stripped off from the P5.

Interior reminds me of the Lexus IS300. Not that I don't like it though.

But none of the things shown on that thread really changed the look of the P5. Most likely it will look like the pictures above - as tradr was saying. The images above don't imply dynamic skid control or safety power windows . . .

BaLa September-1st-2003 06:26 AM

love it, as somebody else already pointed out..
looks like a Baby 6 :D

premdrumusr September-1st-2003 09:17 PM

makes me wanna go back to mazda once this baby comes out.. as long as it still looks like that!

2001ProtegeLX September-8th-2003 09:22 PM

(referring to the sedan version)

Nicely done. The side gives me a feel of the Audi A4 - to certain extent, which is also good as it is a feeling of being mature. Generally, the car is original with a lot of Mazda's recent design cues.

I have read somewhere in a Germany website that the 2.3L will "probably" be making around 180 horses instead of the 6i's 160 horses. Hum.... If that's true, that makes my next car. Upscale, quality, style & performance.

If it is not 180 hp, it may temporarily lack performance, but Mazdaspeed may make up for it. I hope.

I am not saying that 160 hp is not good, just that not enough reason to sell my current 130 hp.

The hatchback is nice too! I may buy it for bringing my bike with me.

I just don't know what happen to car design these day? It this a trend or something? All the latest seden has that simular right angles on the back door, the Altima has them, the new Maxima has them, and Satarn Ion has them, the Honda Accord has them, and even the up coming 2004 Mitsubishi Galant has them too? What is with this right angle back door/window design? It just doesn't look good to me at all, especially when every car company are doing the same thing.

nate0123 September-9th-2003 09:20 AM

Anyone else notice the "POS" button to the upper right of the shifter? I wonder what that does...make all the badges read "Ford"? :stickpoke

yellowdragon September-9th-2003 09:26 AM

...What about the button labeled VOICE that also says ZOOM on top? Will that produce the kid's voice whispering 'ZOOM ZOOM' or will that play the ZOOM ZOOM music theme? ;)

90210brandon September-9th-2003 10:17 AM

I believe that's for zooming in and out on the display screen.

Regardless, it is funny to see the letters POS printed anywhere on a car. ;)

pro00 September-10th-2003 03:52 PM

POS = not good idea to put in our cars, because it stands for Piece of Shit, and our cars are not POS:D

Looks good, like a stubby Mazda6. BTW, whoever said the 3 has better proportions than the 6 is on crack. Either way it does look good.

a thread came back from the dead

Mazda are coming strong with the new mazda 3
i can't wait to see one in real life

BOOSTD 7 October-21st-2003 11:33 PM

Just moved it since I made the Mazda 3 sub-forums

Sledgehammer October-22nd-2003 03:44 PM

For all the Canadian Mazda enthusiasts, Mazda Canada FINALLY revamped its site!!!

Prices for the new 3 are as follows :

SEDAN

GX - $16195
GS - $17695
GT - $21345

OPTIONS

Sport Auto - $1000
A/C - $1000
Leather - $900
Convenience Pkg - $695
Power Pkg - $795
Sport Pkg - $1395
GFX Pkg - $1095

5-Door Hatch

GS - $20185
GT - $21385

OPTIONS

Sport Auto - $1000
A/C - $1000
Leather - $900
Power Moon Roof - $800

The prices are better that I expected. A fully loaded 5-speed GT sedan will list at $23340; almost a $1000 LESS than a base Mazda 6!

Now I gotta convince the wife we need a new car.;)

BTW - It should hit Canadian showrooms by December.

Sweedenhouse October-23rd-2003 02:28 AM

Am I the only one who thinks this fuckin sucks because of the goddamn dash? where the fuck are you supposed to put your nice Eclipse CD player? fuck that shit

osudewd October-24th-2003 02:29 PM

It looks good

The stock CD player should be just fine.

Tech October-28th-2003 03:09 PM

Why is it that Canadian models don't have side airbags even as an option? ('Old' pro didn't have them either...)
