I wonder if anyone can help, I recently went and got a new key made for my Mazda and while driving home with new key in the ignition all my dashboard lights lit up and my battery warning light stayed on for a few seconds longer than the rest got home and stopped the car. Put in old key to start the car again and nothing happened all the lights are on, the heater works, radio works everything apart from no "noise" after you turn the key fully round to start the car. In the book that comes with the car it states that there is a problem with the alternator but it's just a new one in the car. After I had checked fuses one that deals with the starter clutch had blown, I have replaced this but still nothing.

 

Are you sure that it's not the battery that's causing the starting problem?
