Your sales guy/gal may have just been a little miseducated. In the Mazda3, the MP3 enabled CD feature will only work in select players/packages.
Personally, in my ride, I have a 6-disc but I have no clue if it can play your MP3 CDs, I just have burnt "regular" cds and that works fine. You must be really high tech.

The M3 can play MP3 but I don't think it is equipped in your car. There is a original Headunit from Mazda and it is optional accessories.

Have you burn to CD-RW? If answer is yes. try to burn to CD-R disk. And when you burn MP3 CD you of course choose make data disk. Close the disk too, some players did not recognize the CD if its not closed. Usually these problems are with audio CDs but it could be problem also in mp3 CDs.

OR that salesperson don't just know what he/she sell to you

Look it up in the owners manual, call mazda USA, or take it to your serivce department as a "warranty" problem.

I Don't recall seeing anywere that you can play MP3 CD's. I think the Salesman is miss informed.

Please keep us updated, I would love to put 150 of my favorite songs on a single CD.

Question MP3 Crap

I also was under the impression that you could burn a CD in MP3 format and play it back in the factory head unit.
I have tried in CD-RW and CD-R formats and have had 0 success in playback. It's a little dissapointing as if I was able to burn MP3's onto a CD for playback I wouldn't feel the need to spend 230.00 for the I=Pod connection kit I just purchased.

Cest le Vie....

Glad it wasn't just me who thought that.

Again... I don't think you have mp3 player in your car. If you want to hear it from a dealer - go to someone else(not the guy who told you you can play mp3s)
