Ok, so first off, hello everyone!

My fiance has a 2008 Mazda3 S Touring Hatchback. For about a month now, she's had an odd electrical issue in which randomly while braking or changing lanes, the cluster and radio will lose power, flicker off and back on. It's about a heartbeat between on and off.

I have also noticed that if the headlights are on and I try and I pull the window switch while the window is closed, the cluster will dim slightly. If I keep the switch pulled and do another one, the cluster will dim more, and so on.

With this kind of additive effect, I'm betting its the alternator. We are getting it tested today, but what I wanted to know is what's the OEM brand for the Mazda3's alternator? Barring that, is there a particular alternator brand that is recommended by you guys?

I'm new to Mazda's but not new to wrenching, I intend to DIY all of this if possible.
