...Ummm...the chassis layout pic....doesn't appear to be AWD...and from what Car & Driver is telling the world...it won't be offered...at least not stateside...sad for those of us living in a cold climate!!

Definitely FWD only
...from what I hear from the MS6 guys, a good first mod would be FMIC...the TMIC gets heatsoaked fairly easily This will be on my list of cars when I am ready to buy again...although this will probably be 2-3yrs down the road, as I just bought my wife a Fusion |
yeah, I'm holding out for the rebates on the MS6 myself. MS vehicles drop in msrp SO fast it makes no sense to buy them when they first come out. I'll buy the MS6 and put a fmic and exhaust on it and be done with it.
The interior of the MS3 is pure hotness though. Much nicer than the new GTi. |

first of all Mazda would never sell another miata or rx8 if they gave the MS3 the AWD system. You can't have your cheapest entry outrunning your "sports car". The Mazdaspeed Miata is .1s slower than the rx8....know why? Now you do!
official numbers are 253bhp and 260tq iirc. Plenty strong enough and plenty boostable if we can work out something on the ecu front. |
So make the rx8 even faster :0). Is there any rought time frame of the release of the MS3? Thanks.

Making the rx8 faster isn't really a problem but it will cost more and may have a negative effect on reliability which mazda is STRIVING so hard to repair their image on.
MS3 will probably come out later this year....sept or so. The MS6 is on it's way out and the MS3 is next up...they release one every year. |

the close i get to friday, the more souped i get for my car. my dad's favorite car was a mazda RX7 back in the day and as of right now i am absolutely in love with the car i want!!! MAZDA for the win

I never noticed it before on the 3 but whats up with the upper part of the lower grill? Looks like my granpa before he puts in his teeth lol....very nice nonetheless

dosnt AWD require some sort of power going to the back wheels? am i missing something?

I'm guessing you're referring to the first post in this thread. Check the timestamp on that, it was made nearly a year and a half ago. Nobody knew whether or not it was going to be AWD at that time.

Must say not real happy with design. I enjoyed the 06-07 model. It had style ques that set it off. Rear wing spoiler that stood out from body, factory ground effects, new light design. Now it looks like an 08 GT model hatch. On second thought, I like the sleeper aspect:bigthumb: . Debadge it and look out!

ALL those pics are the MPS (in Europe, the equiv of the mazdaspeed3). I don't like the wheels of any of the mazdaspeed versions including the 6 also WAY too many spokes....less air for the brakes and a pain to clean. I believe the HP for the mazdaspeed3 is 260. It's the same 2.3 with slightly lower compression and a medium sized turbocharger on it, which remains the same for the 2010 model.
The 2010 has a subtle hood scoop to suck air into that air cleaner as you can see in the drivetrain layout, similar to the subie STI, but doesnt stick out. Yet HP etc numbers remain the same, and the front end still looks like a smiling frog. I'm waiting for conservative bodykits to fix that travesty :) |
