hey guys I just bought an '08 Mazda 3 s hatchback and its an automatic w the option of clutchless manual shifting. My question is what is the correct way to shift when using it. I've always driven a 5 speed but never the clutchless type. When upshifting do I take my foot off the gas before I up shift? what rpm is a good one to up shift for just normal everyday driving and roughly what rpm should I downshift?

I believe you don't need to take your foot off the gas when you shift up.

 

No need to do anything but shift + or - keep on the gas and shift many safety were built into manuamatic cars to prevent damage shifting even if you forget to up shift at redline it will do it for you even in manual mode.
