Question Mystery cable

I was taking off the spare caps for where switches go, and i found a wire connector behind it, does anyone know what it is, or to what it goes to? As well as if it does work can i just buy the switch and have it function normally?

This is the connector i am talking about, it just had a switch over on it, like the end cap
