2004 SP23 Hatch, grinding/whirring noise when accelerating
Hey everyone,
I have an '04 SP23 it's been making a really weird grinding noise in first and second gear (5sp manual) under moderate (it comes on a little) to full acceleration (grinding a lot). I remember one particular time it sounded like straight cut gears, so i thought maybe gearbox? Anyways I took it in and explained this to a mechanic, the dude ended up just servicing my gearbox because i said it could have something to do with that. But anyways, after losing a few hundred bucks for nothing I thought id ask on here before taking it to someone again. I know the engine mount needs replacing, which I plan to organize do but has anyone seen an issue like this before? Idk if its the mount or another insidious problem. I would record a clip, however shes unregistered until i fix this and get new tyres.
On a side note if anyone has any good recommendations for 215/45/17R mid-tier tyres for it let me know
Cheers,
Brent
