I would like to alert other members about two track events of interest in my area. The Chicago Alfa Romeo Owners Club sponsors two track events each year open to all types of cars. They do a one-day event around the 4th of July at Blackhawk Farms near Rockton IL and a two-day, fall event in early October at Road America in Wisconsin. Drivers may do either open lapping with transponders to record lap times and/or do a “touring” session during the lunch break. The “touring” session allows drivers to take passengers out and drive the track at “modest” speeds. Both events are great fun, and give you a chance to really enjoy your car at speed on tracks that you would not normally have a chance to drive. Additionally, a wide variety of cars show up, so you get to see and talk to other owners about their cars. No special safety equipment needed, except for a helmet.
