Now mazdastuff is going to run out of stock and raise the price

LinuxRacr November-21st-2002 10:24 AM

Good info. Another great mod I HIGHLY recoommend is the PIAA Super Silicone Wipers. They are costly, but there's nothing like driving through a downpour, and not having to turn your wiper on at all!! Every wipe of the blade is like a new coat of Rain X. I have had them since about Apil, and love them!!! You can get them from Nopi I have the Carbon Fiber Blades (Not real Carbon Fiber!).

I just ordered mine from Mazdastuff.com, I ended up calling them, that is the nicest parts department I have ever dealt with. They are out of stock and have to order them, so you may want to to call today and get in with that order.

JJB November-27th-2002 12:19 PM

cake!

the wiper stalk/control module I ordered arrived today... ran out to the parking lot at work armed with a #2 phillips screw driver... in 15 mins I had completed the swap... worked like a charm!

thanks to all for the part numbers and info!

Finnish Part vs MPV Part

I may have missed something here. What is the difference between using the Eurpopean part vs the local MPV part?

Price, features?

Thanks

I think for the sedans you need the Euro part. For the P5's you need the MPV stalk.

I think that the European parts are substitures the regular Protege.

The MPV part is the sub for the Protege5 as it has the rear wiper control as well.

Thanks

I've got a '99 Protege LX -- can I get in on any of this action??

ViperProtege5 March-28th-2003 11:00 AM

I've got them on and have a pic

I have an 03 Pro5. I got an arm out of an 01 MPV, from a wrecker.

I have a pic on page 2 of this link,

ALL 3rd gens can do this mod

P5s can use 99+ MPV stalk

sedans must use European 626 stalk

Kicker April-27th-2003 05:53 PM

MPV wiper control for sedan??

Does anyone know if the MPV wiper control works on the 03 sedan and the rear wiper controls are just useless or do we absolutly need the euro 626 control?

ViperProtege5 April-27th-2003 08:57 PM

Shrug...I dunno!

I'm pretty certain Edwin has done the comparison and the answer is NO, MPV stalk won't work with Protege sedans

JJB May-6th-2003 08:33 PM

I was driving my friend's Ford Escape (aka the Mazda Tribute) this weekend and noticed that the wiper stalk and headlight stalk appear to be identical to the ones in the Protege5. This might be another source for P5 owner's that want variable intermittents... I am sure that there have to be some of these in junk yards by now with the way people drive SUVs around here.

ZG77_OzZ September-3rd-2003 06:27 AM

what happend to the how do?

mp3wannabe September-4th-2003 09:56 AM

People READ THE FUGGIN POSTS!!!!!!!

For a 99-up sedan, you need the part from the Euro 626

for a 01-up P5 you need the part from the US MPV

THESE ARE NOT INTERCHANGABLE.

READ BEFORE YOU POST! n00bs!

eting_pro5 January-22nd-2004 05:40 PM

the stalk from the tribute will also work.

LX03 March-29th-2004 10:21 PM

Cork Sport has the european 626 stalk for the Protege Sedan for $72.00.

I ordered one around mid-May and got a message from Chris saying they're back ordered into June. Bummer. I've gotta wait til the end of the rainy season in the Northeast. I'll post with the results after installation.

Gavin June-16th-2004 06:23 AM

Got my stalk in yesterday. Took about 5 min to install. Works great. Cost me just under $80 with shipping to RI. Nice little mod for those of us caught in the rain.

redcivic June-22nd-2004 05:09 PM

Got a part number for corksport gavin?

Gavin June-22nd-2004 07:03 PM

99p-9-030

MadeInJapan July-30th-2004 11:03 AM

Looked all over the Corksport website and came up empty handed...even put in the part number for the search and nothing...please advise as I would like to get this intermittent stalk....to much rain in my area and the regular delay is driving me nuts.

Actually, I've emailed Corksport about this part number (99p-9-030), so hopefully I'll hear from them soon. If I do and it seems to be an easy way to order from them, then I'll post their reply here as well.

MadeInJapan July-30th-2004 11:20 AM

BTW, OEM part number is GE6M-66-128. I just called Corksport (503.252.5700) and ordered one...just under $80 with shipping, UPS. I talked to Darrick, but evidently anyone can help you there...they were very nice...
Can't wait to get "real" intermittent wipers now! :smoke:

Gavin July-30th-2004 04:44 PM

Sorry the part number didn't work for ya. If you go to corksport.com, it's under the route: Protege/3 on the top, '99 - '03 Protege on the right, Styling - Interior third down on the right, and then it's on the top of page two.
Looks like you've already got it ordered but if you want to see what you're gonna get - there ya go.
Enjoy

MadeInJapan July-30th-2004 05:42 PM

Thanks man...I was looking under 626 and not finding anything....really a lot of other nice things on this site...not yet here, but would love to have the floor lighting and the rear cup holders...wow~!
