Omg, am I the only person that thinks these prices are ridiculous for minor body pieces?? A front lip costs over $370 while a whole front bumper for a body kit costs about the same or even less (on most other cars)?! The grill is also ridiculous... most cars that have grills like these only cost up to $120. We seriously need some people to start making some replicas. I'm not one to pay an extra $200 on a small piece of body work just because it came from Japan.

The Lip is URETHANE. And yes we do pay for quality parts. The glass and resin work is much better than the cheap stuff most protege people like to buy or can only afford.

If you want a good part this is what it costs unfortunately. Even the Japanese list prices are the same.

Later, Rishie

You're the only one surprised cause we've been talking about the price on these parts for over a year.

Oh I'm sure that's why I'm so surprised. Please don't take offense to my post. I'm just an "outsider looking in." Know what I mean? A Type R urethane lip (which my friend has on his GS-R) doesn't cost nearly as much as the Autoexe lip.. and it's just as much material.

I'm just astonished at how expensive minor cosmetic mods are for Pros. Another reason it's surprising is because we pay for a $16,000 car .. which is in an "economy" budget range, yet some still find it legit to buy a $375 lip (bargain price too) which is more than most people's monthly payment for a part that is so small and made with a commercially inexpensive material.

Again, please don't take offense into this post. I'm just hoping someone will come with some good replicas soon, as I am digging the way the Autoexe products look on the P5.

EDIT: Also, DGMotorsports have their Carbon Fiber version also at $375 with a fiberglassed version at $295.

Hah, I knew that "The Man" was gonna reply with some smartass remark.. and I'm new here.

TheMan,

Why don't you RETAKE your highschool level courses. Maybe you'll become a better consumer and think before you buy. I never came here to start a flame, but you can go ahead, flamer. I'm not trying to stop anyone from buying these parts. If they feel that paying $375 for a strip of urethane, then so be it. It's their money not mine. And as for you, I suggest you should redirect your anger... maybe it's something that's been bothering you for a long time... oh wait... I know EXACTLY what your problem is! there are replicas. www.onderground-design.com , but the lip is a piece of ****. we have one sitting in our house, its a fiberglass replica that looks like trash. if you wanna mod your car, its not a cheap hobby so you just gotta suck up the prices. i paid about 1200 just for the front bumper/lip thats on my car now and it was worth every penny. my real autoexe lip was worth it, even though its cracked now. rishie i'll be ordering another autoexe lip tomorrow.

if you don't care to buy anything, then don't... you just come into this thread and talk **** without any constructiveness... you're just wasting space and wasting our time

there is nothing to "think" about to be a "smarter" consumer... no one buys protege performance parts... almost no one makes them... where's the supply? where's the demand? why is it so expensive for stuff that is only made by ONE company?

there is a difference between NO parts and SOME parts... when there are no parts, you people bitch not having parts... and when there are SOME parts, you people bitch about the price... guess you can't please everyone

if you care getting a cheap price, go drive a honda... seriously, they have MANY companies making the same type of part

1.) I didn't start by trashing any thread.
2.) YOU of all people should not talk about posting "without constructiveness" and "talking **** and taking up space."
3.) I understand Autoexe is the only one to offer these products... which was why I suggested/hoped for replicas by other companies.. You dont read very well do you?
4.) Your inability to carry on a well thought out argument is very disappointing. Is this Admin status your first ounce of authority? You seem to act like a boy who just became line leader.
5.) So I guess you feel better about paying more money for a part than others? Does this make you feel better? The higher the price, the better IT MUST be huh?
6.) Once again, I never intended to flame. Infact, I specifically said that I didn't intend to be offensive. Therefore, I appreciate the rest of the people who read that and can act like an adult about it. My first post was just an opinion. If you don't like opinions, TheMAN, you should try something OTHER than internet forums. Go play with kids half your age.. I'm sure you'll feel superior then.

There is replica of Autoexe; DGmotosport makes them. However, they only make it in carbon fiber and fiber glass. I had a fiber glass DGmotosport front lip, it cracked when I made an U-turn. The lip hited the curb a little when I was going slow, yet it still cracked. In the end, I sold it for half price, and lost the other half. Now, I just hoped I spent a little more money on a better quality one. In addition, I personally think any car parts are expensive; modifying cars aren't cheap.

I don't take offense to what you're saying. People buying replica stuff only enforces the reason I choose to purchase the authentic parts.

For one thing, if a company designs a nice piece they should reap the benefits of it. And I agree that people who buy cheap cars only tend to be able to pay a percentage of that car's value modifying it. That's why those people buy replica parts produced in Taiwan. This part is made in Japan and that has worth to some and none to others. Regardless labor is not as cheap. There's a reason for everything and prestige has a lot to do with it.

While I'm running on Volks others will run Konigs, when I run AutoExe others will run on DG. This only helps my position at shows, street, and track. I make no bounds because I would rather save money and purchase a proven part and help perpetuate a good companies existence.

If you can afford this part you will be one of the few elite who are willing to pay for it without putting money into people's pockets who are biting it's style and work. This is not a price point product. And the prices you've received aren't even marked up. A lot of it is a result of importing, shipping, and so forth. I tried to get these prices as close to Japanese retail as possible. It took me very long to go thru my line of contacts in Japan to acheive this.

For the MAN and myself it's very disheartening to hear consumers advocate the production of replica parts. This only makes it more difficult to convince these companies to continue engineering fine looking, functional parts for our cars. Please don't take offense to the MAN or what I've written. We're probably at different points in our lives and are only here to present you guys with good products that are proven and will give you the prestige these cars deserve.

Later, Rishie

Rishie,

I totally understand your argument. And I appreciate the way you presented it. I do agree with you that people who do show their cars want the original elite parts. And that is perfectly okay with me. But I also wished there were options for the average consumer who cannot justify $375 for a urethane lip. The fact that it was made in Japan is not really an issue. Going back to my friend's GS-R example, the Type R urethane lip is actually from Japan. I believe he paid around $250 for it. Again, I'm not arguing price. I agree with everything you said. There are just different perspectives to this issue.

I appreciate how hard you've tried to become a distributor of Autoexe parts.. I hope you understand that I know this is a big step towards getting more parts for Pros. Please continue the good work. Again, for everyone else reading all this, I'm not trying to prevent you guys from buying these parts. Urethane is infact a quality material for aesthetic mods. It doesn't crack and is flexible. Good job and good luck with the groupbuy, Rishie.

geezz

geez guys.. come on.. it's not like we're talkinga bout pos domestics now haha both ur arguements are right... yes, they're expensive, but on the other hand.. u can't find anything like those mods anywhere else... think about it.. if u're like the only one making the deal.. wouldn't u make the price high? i mean look at the civics... u have like MIllions of things and with 300$ u can rice it all nice and neat.. just give it time, and once more things come into the market for the mp5, the price will start to lower itself... since u dont ahve the mp5 yet.. u have nothing to worry bout.. yet but damn.. i really want that upper autoexe grill but 240... that's like 2 rims hehe plus paint... that's be like 340... but damn.. it looks nice..... tempting.. very..
