Look at the dumbasses on other car forums

http://9thgencorolla.com/forums/view...er=asc&start=0

This is a forum I joined up with to prepare myself to install my brothers turbo kit on his 2ZZ corolla xrs. In my searching I see a thread about using racing fuel for more power in 99% stock cars.

I pwn the hell out of the guys with FACTS and documentation from automotive engineers and scientists. They still argue.

The kicker... they tell me the reason the car benefits from higher octane fuel is because "lift" (toyota vtec) is constantly INCREASING VALVE TIMING.

They think valve timing is the same thing as ignition timing...and they're arguing with ME??

if you have to sign up to view it it's worth it.

feel free to post.

most first post is about halfway down the 2nd page.

scotty878 February-2nd-2006 09:36 PM

Bwahahah, thats pretty hailarious! As if I had any respect for Carolla owners that didnt use them for commuting, it's now ALL gone! You were able to prove them wrong with everything they came up with....

Yeah, 0\/\/|\|3D!

EDIT: At first, I just skimmed over it, but I just went back and read all of it and wow, just wow, they are all so completely wrong! I love the arguement about what a knock sensor does, lol...It wouldnt be so bad if they could realize your right and accept you, but it's that much worse because they are all completely ignorant and just becasue you dont drive a Toyota your wrong...Fools!

zerocover February-2nd-2006 09:43 PM

Whay are you on the toyota forums?
Furhtermore where did a company that specializes in makeing boring cars for old people (company modo) get any enthusiasts?

Of course there idiots if they knew anything about cars they would have bought another car.

ghettopro February-2nd-2006 10:07 PM

wow.....that is amazing.....these people make my pet rock look smart.....

I almost started clapping and yelling when i saw mattys posts, and the major schoolings he gave....

Roddimus Prime February-2nd-2006 10:09 PM

I'm doing research for my brothers turbo'd corolla....when I saw the old "octane debate thread" i jumped in to see what these guys thought.

The most knowledgable guy on that forum is the "faisel" guy....he just posted and said that the japanese WRX feels stronger becuase it runs on 94 octane....good lord how dumb can they be?

ghettopro February-2nd-2006 10:11 PM

oh, and i love it when they consider you a n00b, it just made me think they are even more stupid.

and they name a "Japanese WRX" as running higher oct fuels, its funny, b/c, you werent talking about WRX's, you were talking about toyotas....do they not realize different things work on different cars as well?

Anarchistchiken February-2nd-2006 10:41 PM

Posted. What a bunch of tools.

ghettopro February-2nd-2006 10:44 PM

yeah, appearntly their couple of years of being on that forum, outweighs mattys years and years of experience

Roddimus Prime February-2nd-2006 10:46 PM

Japanese cars always make more power than US cars because of the stricter US emissions and EPA requirements. Also, Turbo cars DO benefit from higher octane fuels as they need the benefit of the higher octane.

the rule of thumb when choosing octane is to use the lowest octane you can without pinging.

Apparently the corolla rule of thumb is... triple-digit-octane or bust!

scotty878 February-2nd-2006 10:57 PM

Hahah, thats hailarious! I wanna join but dont feel like wasting my time with people who wont accept the facts....And I'm afraid their stupidity will rub off on me through the intArweb....Yes, its possible, they're just that dumb!

ghettopro February-2nd-2006 11:05 PM

I think its getting to me!!! noo!!!

It literally is brain numbing tho....

Corrola- yes, Toyota as a company- NO. I would take a Supra and or a GT4 Celica. Its ok though I see what you are trying to say. Granted I would take any RX7/8, MS6, MSP, MS Miata over any Toyota any day.

Roddimus Prime February-3rd-2006 01:59 AM

you cant get new supras or gt4 celicas anymore...they make nothing new or intersting. The MR2 is canceled after this year btw.

zerocover February-3rd-2006 04:47 PM

The geniuses over at toyota found that if they focus there cars on the old boring people, they will sell more. They actually go out of there way to be sure there current cars are as boring as possible.

There older cars are really cool though.

ghettopro February-3rd-2006 07:17 PM

its like Mazda has made really intresting cars, and it gets better and better..

Toyota goes from cool to .....not cool..

cornercarve98 February-5th-2006 02:22 PM

That was some funny stuff.

The only thing I do is dump 89 instead of 87 octane in my car because it doesn't ping on 89. It also sounds stronger on the 89 (not like that is a real reason, more for just audible peace of mind ha). There's almost no gain in power, so it's not really for that reason either.

...dang California freeway onramps. Those things are wicked...well if it's a 2nd gen 1.5L engine chugging away on them, it is...

Ya, whatever did happen to Toyota? MkIV Supras and MKII MR-2s were sweet cars. And then they killed the latest Celica--that was a good car. Oh well.

ghettopro February-5th-2006 09:16 PM

Yeah, I like the generation of MR2's before the Spyders.

they looked more aggressive rather than a flattend frog..

wow...did this thread get OT?

Phantom Cruiser February-6th-2006 08:08 AM

Wow...that was...neat. I should buy a Pimprolla and get a drum of 111 and be mad fast y0 cuz my VVT would adjust and make my car more powerful. ;)

kargoboy February-7th-2006 11:28 AM

I never knew my '92 Corolla was all that.
I think with some rims and 101 octane gas I'll be MAD pimpin'
Pics to come!

Roddimus Prime February-7th-2006 02:00 PM

you should get me a pic of you pouring a gas can into the car with a big 110 on the side and a baseball hat cocked to the side....that would be rightous.

kargoboy February-7th-2006 03:39 PM

Yo dude, I'm all over that.
Stay tuned.

I'll make sure and post a pic this weekend, since I'm never home during the week when it's actually light outside, but Mike or Barry will need to do a little photoshop maybe and Matty has to promise to post it on that other forum.

Roddimus Prime February-8th-2006 02:26 PM

Bill February-10th-2006 07:23 PM

Damn, 5 minutes of my life wasted. I feel like my IQ has dropped 30 points from reading that shite.

Roddimus Prime February-10th-2006 09:14 PM

imagine how I feel? They all now consider me an ignorant n00b.

Bill February-11th-2006 08:09 AM

I wouldn't worry about it. I'd be willing to bet that none of those ricers has modded any more than bolting on neons.
As a diehard toyota fan (rear wheel Toyotas that is) I'm very disappointed in what they've offered since '86/'87, when the Celica went FWD. Then the Supra's prices went through the roof, excluding "Averageman" from owning one.
Anyway, , you'll never be able to change their thinking. What you should've done was try to go in there and capitalize on their ignorance by selling them the shit they desire!!

ghettopro February-11th-2006 12:34 PM

*sigh* another stab at neons..how suprising..

I kinda liked the older model FWD celicas, not sure what year, perhaps 90's? I saw on in sport compact car mag. once, looked good engine and body wise, aside from the flames, but was pretty cool, i wouldnt mind having one myself..

Anarchistchiken February-11th-2006 07:06 PM

Those early 90's Celicas are HUGE looking. I liked them too, but they really needed to be rear/AWD.

ghettopro February-12th-2006 01:21 AM

I always thought the 90 model celicas were small, but ive never been inside of one...the outsides didnt look that big to me, perhaps im blind..

Haha, it's ok, he's used to it--he knows we all still love him even if his neons r dum.

On to other things, as promised. Wish the weather was better but there a snowstorm heading in and so, not the best pic...still good for a laugh, I hope.
