help!!!

i didn't know where to post this but i just picked up a miata and its not running right. i thought it needed a tune up so i changed plugs, wires, oil, air&oil filter, i even changed the fuel filter. i plan on doing the timing belt sometime this week. after i did all of this still not good. its got a crazy low idle, and when you press the gas it stuters like its out of gas. once it gets into a higher rpm its stops stutering until you let off the gas. this is my first miata and really my frist car to work on that doesnt have a carb. lol so do you have any ideas?

edit// its an 1992 1.6

be careful on the timing belt on those. If the crank is damaged and you pull the pulley off it'll never go back on again and you're stuck having to do a full rebuild. I ran into this when I did a water pump for a friend here.
