Whats the difference?
Whats the difference between dry nos and wet nos? What do I need to do to my car in order to run either one?
|
thats a very large question.....here is a simple answer but not an all-inclusive one:
Dry N20 is a mist of gas injected into your intake before the TB....it goes in like air. Wet N20 is mixed with a fuel nozzle and is atomized with fuel prior to going into the engine. what do you need?? A lot of fuel, fuel pressure, clean fuel filter, high octane, common sense. Those are simple answers. You need to do some more research on it before just throwing it on a motor. |
I have been doing research and have decided not to go with nos for now. My biggest fear is the cost of replacing a motor if I blow somthing. Matty, what can I do in place of NOS?
|
Don't worry about a reply, I read another post in the FI section where you address the same issue someone else had.

yeah, I love N20 (please don't call it NOS!!). It's the best way to make power cheaply and effectively.
With a ZEX kit all you'd need be a fresh fuel filter, some "colder" spark plugs, 91+ octane gas and a lot of traction! Also, someone linked me a Walboro 255lph fuel pump on Ebay for the miata. This is a replacement for the protege with a very simple modification. Also it was only $85. Mine in my SHO was over $200. This is a great buy and great insurance in problem avoidance. Don't worry about blowing a motor with a ZEX kit. I have yet to see i happen (with proper maintaince) and I know some idiots running their kits! |
Sounds like ZEX is the way to go....I am thinking about getting one......
|
my bro says my car cant handle it...................hmmmmmm........
|
Why do people call it NOS anyways? I know its N20, is NOS to N20 as Kleenex is to tissue?
|
You got it.... and movies like F & F don't help the matter.

Damn movie. That movie singlehandedly ruined the whole import scene. I am offended when people car me a ricer not only because I am asian but because of that damn movie. If people that modify imports are called ricers(damn I hate that term) are people who modify domestics called corn?
|
no, corn would be american indians or inuits....mexican "ricers" are "bean-mobiles" and American rice is "uncle Ben's"

I think that carries a different meaning !!
That's like the local hockey team "Glory Holes!" |
you car should be able to handle a 50 shot of N20 with no prob if properly managed
|
What kind of wear are you putting on an engine with the use of N2O?
With even just a 50-shot used every now and then, is there not a considerable amount taken off of the life of the engine? |
