Turbo Timer & Boost Gauge
hey does anyone tryed or have install a "JDM BLITZ DUAL TURBO TIMER & BOOST GAUGE " or any thing close to its ex. boost gauge or turbo timer
and if so any help would be greart |
what do turbo timers do and why?
|
they simply start the engine before you get in it (like some alarms do) and they let the engine idle after you get out. This is b/c of the damage that can be done by hi-reving the engine at startup before oil has saturated the bearings, or shutting down the engine after a hard pull before allowing the turbine to slow which will coke the oil. Basically, its a $300 egg timer for your turbo. Useless is right. Just learn how to treat your car.
|
so basically you could get a autostarter, start your car 5mins before you get in to, and then turn your car off after you idle it for like 5 mins?
|
Just like 90&00 Protege said, Corky Bell himself also complies. Since he uses watercooled (with oil bearing), he explains it the same way.

one more "?" if i have a manifold for a t3 garret t3 turbo , can i put ex. Turbonetics turbo or t25 on the manifold .
(so what i mean is if i could inchange turbo and would the bolt patters be the same... "t3 to a t4") does anyone know a goodsite where they sale new cheap turbos |
No. The names T25, T3 and T4 refer to various families. They use different flanges. You can modify your manifold to fit the various bolt patterns, of course. Turbonetics can tell you what flange their turbos use.

If you have a t3 manifold, you may be able to use a t3/t4 hybrid, but it all depends on what your looking to do.
Do you have any more info on you analysis of warming up a car, its not easy to believe moderate load is good for 20degree (cel) rotating assemblies. I'm not saying I agree or disagree, but I'd like to hear more of the argument. |
