Supercharged 1.6 ZM-DE Project COMPLETED!
The 1.6L ZM-DE supercharger project is completed, over three months now. Reliability excellent so far, with about 3000 miles on the S/C, mostly with maniacal, WOT driving! How is it? Absolutely OUTRAGEOUS!!!
I figure I gained an easy 50 - 60 HP, as the car easily toasts the 215/40 ZR 17 Potenzas with dumping the clutch. Sorry guys, no nearby DYNO to give you the precise curves....
If I can find an easy way to post the digital pics of the project, I will soon!!!
Any questions, please feel free to ask,

great news. Glad to see supercharger love spreading. Which blower did you use? How much boost are you running? what are your other supporting engine mods? What are you using for EMS?
GET THOSE PICS AND DYNO #'s!!!

I will post pics on this thread as soon as I take some new digital pictures folks, that would be easier than having to email them separately to those interested... please be patient as I am very busy these days...
The blower is a Rotrex SP unit, very good and dependable, made in Sweden, and installed very easily by removing the power steering pump and using an electric power steering pump instead. A/C was not touched.
I had to restrict boost to 10psi to prevent detonation, even though I am using premium 96 octane gas. I am using a Erl FMII unit to control fuel to the 2 extra fuel injectors, and a signal conditioner to keep the ECU from going nuts...
Overall, I am VERY SATISFIED, and I strongly recommend this mod to fellow 1.6ers who wish to embarrass Mazdaspeeds and MP5s!

alright, you're going to have to get me some info on that electric powersteering pump. I looked all over and couldn't find anything. I need some pics and the manufacturers name if you can find it.
Thanks and good luck!

Please be patient fellow protege clubbers! I am a very busy doctor and work on my car as a hobby. Lately, I have been overloaded with very ill patients who needed a lot of care, hence the undue delay in posting the pics!
Tomorrow is Friday, and hopefully I will have time to go out and take pics of my car for all to see...
Have no doubt, the supercharged 1.6 exists! But my clutch is going fast, who knows of a good upgrade for the 1.6 clutch? And who knows where I can find the ECU pinouts?
Stay tuned for more news,
