ok i read from page 3 to 4 on this thread.. argue argue argue.. i believe if you guys that are smart with all this foced induction should get together to find the best setup for our 1g protege. seeing our community is so small, why dont we not argue and make the best of it for ourselves =P take advantage of everyone's knowledge. get together n explore stuff
my opinion, peace |

I wass trying to say that the kit turboge makes can be bether for street use by using difrent turbo. But we got cheerlea in here than dont know what is a compresor map and they telling me that in wrong. So if u people know how to read compreor maps go to www.turboneticsinc.com and read on compresor maps of toB 60-1 and to4E 60 trim and tell me what flows more air then we can talk. The T4 we used for this particular turbo was a 50 trim. |
ProtegeDX said to get together and to make good kits for a protege.First we got to start with turbos. All the kits that are made for honda and make good hp im not talking HK$ and Greddy turbo kits. Im talking about Drag generation turbo kits use big turbos. Honda cant take alot of bost because they have aluminum block and not so strong rods and pistons and the have open deck engines but they take adventage of flow with vtec buy using big turbos that flow a lot at low boost. Also i read posts that u trans will blow up @300 hp or 300 lbs tq. How any one can get those numbers i have no idea. I work on VW and i see weak transmisons they go with stock cars but there are people that run 10 sec with same transmisions How is this posible? So i dont think we got that weak transmisions on protege. Mine idea why trans will go at around 300 hp is just bacause somone is runing small turbo and is trying to pull the best time he can revs to 7000k drops the clutch and pair of slicks ,and i can see why the trans go,why not it wasnt design for that hp and tq. So let just say u will run big turbo that flows a lot of air at around 14-16 psi even with the stock head that turbo will make good hp. Big turbo has a lot of lag so it wont be that harsh on take off but u will make up with top end. You might get the slower time than somone that runs smaler turbo but you speed will be higher and in real life u will smoke them. That is just mine opinion and i think protege can be quick like other 4 cyl cars that are out there. Key to that is a right setup.

yep, our small supporting community has to get together and make the best of it for our cars seeing no one really wants to make any parts for our cars. we should all get together and experiment on stuff. teamwork with an open mind is good stuff.
btw, turbo1g, did u dyno ur car or run it at the track yet? im curious. |
http://photos.yahoo.com/d2maz that is a link to mine dyno chart and time slip.my car is 9277.

The problem with your setup lies in the injectors and ECU. Once you go to a standalone I wouldn't doubt you making another 50hp and 50lb-ft at those same boost levels. As it stands right now, I still have 6psi more to play with. I'm guessing it will put down 275lb-ft and 265whp when I'm done. But really I'm just going to try for an even 250/250. |

news on 1.6
whats the latest news on the 1.6 liter kit, did i miss anything?
|
compare them for yourselves:
The T04B 60-1 compressor map: http://www.turboneticsinc.com/comp_maps/Fig9.gif vs the T04E 50 trim that turboge is using: http://www.turboneticsinc.com/comp_maps/Fig13.gif The 60-1 moves over 50lbs/min@ a 2:1 pressure ratio or 14.5 psi for those who dont know, (1 bar is 14.5 and not 14.7, 14.7 is 1 atm.) The 50 trim moves about 38lbs/min@ the same 2:1 pressure ratio or 14.5 psi, these numbers dont lie, you can make huge amounts of hp without putting much pressure into the engine, no need for race gas either. Just stating facts. take care Paul |
Forgot to add, the 60-1 will move more air at 15psi than the 50 trim will at 30+ psi.
|
and u forgot to add that 60-1 @15 psi will flow more than ihi @100psi;)
