I would love to get one, i tried the site but it said document not found. check to see if the URL you posted was correct.

protegeboy78 March-1st-2002 11:13 AM

oops

Sorry about that last post didn't notice you fixed the URL address

protegeboy78 March-7th-2002 05:55 PM

interested

I'm definantly interested but i have some ?'s first. like how much total are we looking at for the system, how sure are you that the car can handle it, and are there other things i will have to change do to the large increase in horse power; such as a new manual transmission or anything.

protegeboy78 March-8th-2002 11:30 AM

While i am interested, since i'm just finishing college I really can't afford to drop $3,000 into my engine to raise it to 150-180 hp. Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a new better engine with that kind of hp?
I believe my current engine only has hp around 90 something i have added a K&N air filter but don't really think i've noticed much difference in performance. is there anything else i can do to get my car a bit over 100 maybe up to 120 hp without spending in the thousands of dollars?

jaymersh19 March-8th-2002 05:24 PM

I figured i would go ahead and say it before anybody esle did.... NOS will do the trick if you are looking to get quick and cheap power. Depending on what brand and kit you get, you can spend anywhere from 300-600 dollars.

protegeboy78 March-8th-2002 08:04 PM

thanks

NOS is definantly not what i want, isn't that just for quick bursts? plus hardcore illegal? I just want an over all increase to get a little above 100. I'm not into racing and stuff, just want some better performance i guess. if i can't do it any other way i am thinking of just putting a better motor into my car cause that will be a lot cheaper than turbo.

jaymersh19 March-8th-2002 11:29 PM

I agree with you guys too, but i figured someone was going to say it eventually so I just went ahead and saved them a couple minutes typing it. If I could supercharge my 1.5 it would be great. I dont want power that comes from a "steroid" like TheMAN said.

The manifold with T3 turbo is $800. The turbo itself is $500. Brand new, with wastegate.

This groupbuy was put together for members of the 1.5L community wanting to be different and increase the power of their rides. We will be making, 1.6L, 1.8L, and 2.0L manifolds after this buy.

I have received confirmation from 5 people and received no deposits. This bothers me, I will have to scrap this project if no one is serious about it. We are only opening up opportunities for the 2nd gen that no one else was willing to do. Hope that some of you guys can make this happen for the rest.

protege4ever March-17th-2002 06:39 PM

when are they going to make manifold for 1.8L like mine...and sorry to ask. but how much more power are talking about here with turbo.....

confused on price

I'm a bit confused on the price. I thought it was going to be around three thousand for the turbo but from reading the post a bit beforethis one it appears that you are saying only 800 for the turbo and manifold and 500 for just the turbo? Is that really all or am I misunderstanding? sorry if i'm way off in no where on this but i am still learning about engines and such.

This buy is only for the turbo and manifold. You will supply the piping and intercooler if wanted and any other bolt on or wire in gadgets that you would like to run.

It would be $800 for turbo and manifold with 5 buyers. $500 for the turbo alone. If you'd like to spend $3000 on just these two items I could find a turbo to suit your nature, lol.

protegeboy78 March-18th-2002 02:04 PM

Thanks i'll see if i can find it anywhere

1.5L Turbo???

Any new word on that, is the deal still good? What other costs might be incurred, ie shipping and all that? So $1300 for a turbo and manifold, sounds pretty good to me.

Can I put it on layaway? LOL

protege4ever March-18th-2002 08:01 PM

Marcio March-24th-2002 04:30 PM

turbo 1.8

corcksport.com have a turbo manifold available for your car already. its not that expensive. Braden could awnser this better, but you can start a simple set up running 30-50 extra HP.

protege4ever March-25th-2002 01:12 PM

Thanks

protegeboy78 April-27th-2002 06:52 PM

I've given this a lot more thought and I definantly want to add a turbo. I won't have money for somehting like this for at least 6 to 8 months since i graduate from college next week and don't have a job yet.

protegeboy78 June-4th-2002 07:14 AM

finally

I think i can afford the turbo now i emailed you if you don't get it hopefully you will check this and contact me.

turboge June-5th-2002 11:04 AM

Alright, I will re-open this possibility when 5 people are confirmed and are ready to send a deposit. This has to be a certainty or it is not going to work. It's a very busy month, so I cannot get on this till later this month.

protegeboy78 June-5th-2002 07:39 PM

what it entails

I am extremely interested but i need more details than have been given so far. I would like to know total cost, how much is the deposit, specs on the turbo and manifold (what it is made of especially), is there any kind of garuntee as far as for defects. Also if possible what i need to put it in and make it work with my car. I want to do this and I want to do it right.
