Coming at'cha. It'll probably be on Mitch's site soon, too. I assume that's why he wants it.

Could you please send it to me also? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

NOTES:
*1 This is a one wire system, must use relays. Lock requires negative
trigger through a 1.5K resistor, Unlock requires a negative trigger to the
same wire.
*2 The door lock relays are located to the drivers side of the brake
pedal.
*3 The diagnostic connector is in driver side rear corner of the engine
compartment. Can also find tach in pin 48 of the ECM.
*4 The ECM is behind the passenger side of the dash.

By the way, the neutral trigger for the 5spd is pink/green in a two-wire connector on the top right of the trans. on a gold bracket.

I'll probably sound like a dick for saying this, but if you don't understand this read-out, don't ask me to explain it. Get an installer to do the work for you.

I've found the black/blue wire for the door trigger but the only problem is, there are 3 of them. Well, actually, there's a fourth bigger one that goes into a relay & I think that's one of the ignition wires but does it matter which of the 3 smaller wires I hook up the alarm to? Thanx.

Hey,
Sounds like you're looking up near the steering column or under the instrument panel. I know there's a thick black/blue wire on the steering column, and if I remember correctly, it's related to ignition, not doors. I found the black/blue wire at the driver's door pin-switch. From there, it runs along the running-board (inside some of that plastic tubing) up to the fuse-box. To access this wire, take the plastic-rivit out of the fuse-box cover and remove the cover. Between the end of the running board plastic peice and the front of the fuse box, you'll have access to the black/blue wire. Is this where you found 4 of them? It may be the confluence of the 4 doors' pin-switch-wires. I just assumed the one I found here was the one I needed. Proof's in the pudding: splice into the wire, solder on a length of fresh wire (or the wiring harness from the alarm), and make sure it shows a trigger on each and every door. (I can't remember if it's a negative or positive signal). But it should show a transistion when each door is open seperately. The hatchback is on it's own wire, which is a real pain to route to the front of the car.

All of this courtesy of Darryl... I'm just rehashing. Good luck.

I found the 3 thinner wires at the fuze box & there is another thick one also at the fuze box. I tried checked the 3 thinner wires with a DMM & couldn't get them to register anything when opening or closing the doors. Also, does it matter which of the 3 wires I tap into or are they all the same? Thanx!

Huey August-1st-2002 11:36 AM

Pics don't seem to be working but if they do, they'll probably answer my question. Thanx!

The dome light is negative trigger. To test them with a DMM, switch it over to continutiy and ground one of the probes. Probe the 3 wires you've found and open the doors one at a time. Your DMM should beep when you find the right wire.
