windshield decal vs. windshield wiper

I'm planning on putting a decal across the top of my front windshield. But I noticed that the wipers would move onto the decal when they are being used. For those of you who have decals, what are your experience with this? Are there any future problems that would result if I were to apply the decal?

Thanks!

So far I have had no problems with the wipers vs. the windshield decal. You should not encounter any problems unless the vinyl is really poor quality and it will start to peel at the corners and sides where the wiper is contacting it, but that is very unlikely.

Decal the inside of the glass if possible - problem solved, and it looks better that way, too.

I've thought of that, but I think the decals were made to go outside, so the sticky side would be on the wrong side if they were applied to the inside.

You should be ok, just put it on carefully and try to do it in dry weather, so the decal can "set" for a couple days before you use the wipers.
The vinyl will eventually get scratched, and it will not last forever, esp. in rainy/snowy climates, but you should get a couple years out of it. Most sign vinyl is rated for 3-5 years outdoor exposure.

I put a decal across the top of my windshield (see the how-to section). The wipers hit it in some places, but I have not had a problem yet. (It has only been a month or two, though.)

www.edecals.com says their vinyl decals won't have a problem with wipers.

I reckon that a stone will cause me to replace my windshield sooner or later -- probably before the decal shows any wiper wear.
