From what I understand, Reflections is a stand-alone product. It is a synthetic.

This is from an Autopia post from a guy who works for Mothers:

Thanks Pro_fan I was getting a little confused with all of the wording of Polish and Wax. Looking at the REFLECTIONS® PREMIUM POLISH/WAX it states that it is a premium polish and the bottom states POLISH/WAX? So I was a little confused, thanks for the threads.

And FYI the product is very easy to apply and creates a nice shine

 

Just received my email back from Mothers, this is what they state:

"It is a polish and a wax...one step does it all.......it's great."

 

I think you should all log onto carcareonline.com A polish (a good one) will clean and nourish the paint and give it a good depth of shine. Clean means exactly that - strip old wax and other things off the paint with a chemical cleaner not abrasive. A wax will seal or protect the paint. You only have to polish a few times per year as the seasons change. you can wax as often as you like as long as you use a good car soap so as to not strip the wax/ polish off the finish. I do not beleive that any product can polish and wax at the same time (at least not well). Of course wax/polish is better than nothing at all. Glaze is used to hide minor swirl marks, a good glaze will do the same for paint as a polish, it does contain a mild abrasive. There are different types of waxes also but i've rambled enough. Lets go and clean our cars! By the way, my old Protege was never garaged for 11 years and the paint still looked great (and it was Black).
