You may be fighting yourself a bit on this, you seek 1200 plus watts, but you want inexpensive?
There are many reasonable priced units out there, you might try a google search on car or mobile audio and add the word amplifier. You will be amazed at the number of sites that sell on the internet.
You might want to also check E-Bay, many folks like Ikesound have very good prices online there, and some will offer buy now options...

A lot of folks I know get audio hardware off of E-Bay, the savings allow you to get much better hardware for the dollar.

Good Luck and let us all know what you settle on!

The JBL 1200.1 seems to be the bang-for-buck standard these days. Most of them make 1350+ watts max, so the 1200 watts are clean and easy to come by.

And it is well under $300.

I like www.ikesound.com for equipment - I have ordered several things from them, and have been pleased with every aspect of my purchases. They also do not charge shipping, so the price you see is what you pay, and that's it - maybe sales tax if you live in Florida (that's where they are located).
