What wax or polish do you guys use?
 

After washing and waxing both cars today, I was wondering what wax or polish you guys use?

I use a synthetic polish called NuFinish paste that comes in an orange can. Some people say its crap and it hurts the vehicles finish. But, since its synthetic, it lasts many months of rain and snow, as long as the rain and snow is relatively clean. I barely have to wash the car because the waters beads into small droplets and sheets off when the car is moving. The downside to it is that it doesn't really give the car a new glass looking shine, like organic carnuba waxes provide. And on a silver car, a shine is even more difficult to notice

On the other car just recently, I used Mothers Carnuba Cleaner Wax paste that comes in a red can. More difficult to apply than NuFinish sinces its a hard paste, but smells better. No petroleum smell since it's made from organic ingredients. The shine isn't as good, maybe because I didn't wax it hard enough. It's an enthuists wax so maybe more time is required. As for the protection and water beading properties, I have to wait until it rains.

I use Meguiars Gold Wash when I wash my shit. When I was I use Dawn (or any wax stripping dish soap) to strip any old wax the I use the three step Meguiars wax system. Paint Cleaner- Deep Polish-Crystal Wax. Or whatever, perhaps I pay too much attention, someone elses might have some better advice.

i normally use dri-wash n' guard by envirotech to clean and polish my ride. but from time to time i will use mother's or meguiar's stuff. i found that meguiars has a little deeper shine. all three are solid tho. :)

I use Carnu-B Brazilian Caurnauba wax. Super shine, no surface scratches at all. The car still looks new after 16 months.

Zaino all the way.. it is pricey but it is the best I have seen.

Haven't tried Zaino yet, but I hear it's bar none the best shiznit you can put on your vehicle.

Everyone I've talked to says it lasts for months... Water AND dust don't stick to it.

Zaino is awesome! I have 3 "layers" on mine so far (unlike some on here with like 10+) but as soon as this weather calms down on the weekend I'm doing more. The more you put on, the wetter/deeper reflective and protection you will get. The clear polish (3rd step) really works awesome on the wheels (not tires, the tire polish is awesome for that), I've never had brake dust worse than noticable close up.
It is a little on the expensive side, but you use such a small amount of each, the bottles last a good while.
Make sure you get the clay bar, I couldn't believe how well it worked on my brand new ride....you can feel it picking things out of your finish!
And the Zaino brothers are top notch as far as helping you with any questions...always available via email or phone....you'll never find the engineers from Mothers or Meguires available like that! :P

I mix my wax most time , I take eagle one wet look and mequires wax , (red bottle) and mix em together , just enough to stay thick and let it sit for a few days after using it and it just bonded together for somereason(I dunno why) anyway I tend to use this and the car looks awesome ,,.. I am gonna use a clay bar before the show though

Not true, i emailed Meguires and 5 mins later he was helping, im sure Zaino rocks as well but just saying i have had great results both with the product and the people from Meguires.

I just gave my P5 its first waxing and I used Meguiars and I'm real impressed. I usually use Liquid Glass which may only be a local thing but it works great. I also use some kinda glaze wax I got from a friend that works as a detailer at the Ford shop here in town... it's pretty good.

I do the same...its all I use....I have a good friend that is into Trucks...and has a show truck, he street drives it as well, but shows it too. He introduced me to Dri-wash a few years ago. ITS AWSOME....and so easy to use as well. the finish shines so deep....they have a complete line of products for car care...and ALL of them are environmentally safe. in case any of you want to check them out here is their website.

some would say they are a little pricy....but then again...isn't your ride worth the best? Mine is!

yeah, envirotech has cool car stuff. i like the leather/vinyl cleaner (not "greasy"). the driwash can actually be used in several different applications too, for the deepest shine possible. there is a corvette guy (has an online site) with tons of tips and tricks to get the most of your driwash (waterless car-wash).

hey cool tips! i dunno if i can put that much work into my car as i am extremely lazy. i think i'll just pay for that and do it 3-4 times a year. :p
