USB cable under passenger seat?

I have a 2006 Mazda 3 hatchback & I just noticed while cleaning it today that there is a USB cable coming out of a space under the passenger seat.

Anyone know what that is for?

Thanks!
Craig

Your car is a Transformer
You can hook up your Sony PSP via USB and use your car to play the game in real life haha.

On a more serious note, I have no freakin clue ..

Just straight up USB? like you could just plug a USB device into it? You bought the car new?

Yea what kinda USB is it? The flat USB connection like you have on your computer, or like a mini USB you'd find on an MP3 player/PSP/digi cam etc?

Oh man, I feel stupid... I was hoping it was something I could hook up an MP3 player to, I've been thinking of getting a 2007 for the aux in jack they come with.

Anyway, it turns out it was an old phone charger wedged under the plastic thing under the seat, it looked like the cable was coming out of something "installed". But after I tugged it a few times and looked closer the charger popped out :-)

Duh.

I found the previous owner's sunglasses behind my glovebox. Yea for supermarket quality shades!

Maybe we need a "things you found in your car that weren't yours" thread.

I just found cat hair.. which makes sense because a 70 year old lady owned my P5 before I did.. and she drove stick!!

... and replaced the P5 in Feb 2004 with an 04 Mazda3 hatch in sunlight silver

I remember finding some Taco Bell wrap under my rear seats when I first bought the car. It was not a pleasant find ..
