Treo?
well, onehawiian, you were the one i was hoping to respond the most! But, before yesterday i hadnt heard of this brand before, but from what i heard they are not only more than competition worthy, but damn good SQ wise!
im gonna go check the full line out on wensday, ill report back!

Onehawaiian- if you are looking for SQ go with the focal, as good as any and they look really sharp. For SPL my favorite is Digital Designs, but they are a good ole boy shop right here in Oklahoma City, and with enough amp they can hurt ya!!
8th order is extremely specific and can be complex to build right. They could take up a lot of room. Outside thier specific bandwith pretty ugly sound, but very efficeint in terms of getting alot of DB for the watts pushed.
The air volumes of daul chamber have to also be done right or you will get a nasty floppin noise. The reflex box will be easier to build, and easier to get fitted to an interior as it is much smaller. Not as efficient, but more everyday usable. Niether would be used much outside of competition- which I would assume you are gearing for.
The compromises of space could make a 8th order tough in comparison. I don't play much in the SPL arena, my interest is in SQ, so 85% of my boxes are sealed systems. Sorry for not having more info, but I will ask a friend who builds big boxes for a living. Right now he is working on a four 15s in a Astro van.

focal utopia would've been my first choice, but for $700 a piece online, i'd have to think the two 12" jonah lomus ($550 for both, shipped to hawaii) are a better deal for now. that's dealer cost for the subs.
autotek subs pound hard! my brother is running an autotek class d amp and will pick up two mx 10's within a week or two.
i still wanna try treo and audiomobile subs. i think i need another job so i can make more money so i can buy more toys...

he's running the super sport class d amp, and he already blew 2 rockford 10's (they were old and crappy tho). i like autotek. i think their mean machine and stealth lines are good.
treo subs. my friend and i were talking about them today. he likes those subs, but i don't think he'll bring them in. i wish he would tho, cause right now he is carrying stuff that isn't so "mainstream":
-autotek
-gs designs (same company as autotek)
-massive
-iconTV
he was carrying focal too. he's both a dealer and a distributor, so he gets pretty nuts prices sometimes.
