taking tail light lens off tail light housing (1st Gen)

taking tail light lense off tail light housing

has anyone taken the outer lense off of the tail lights? i mean actually take out just the lense itself off the housing.. any ideas/instructions?

good luck doing that.........i tried to get my tail light lens off it's not worth trying......i stuck them in the oven at 200 for 5 minutes and it didn't do anything.....the problem is you stick them in much longer and the plastic starts to deform.....not to mention that the silver paint inside the housing starts to delaminate...if you don't get the lenses off then the silver comes off and it looks shitty.....if i were you i wouldn't try getting the lenses off...it you want to try getting them off try to heat an knife up and slowly try to melt the ahesive that way....the lens have a very low melting point so i'd be carefull if i were you.......if you need to see what happens when you try to get the lenses off i can send you a pic of my warped tail light

on my friends 00 toyota celica gt-s we painted the inside of his headlights.... and we heated it the oven to 300 degrees then cut off the oven and let the headlights set in there wrapped up in a towel for 15min and they were fine
