FOr $400 you can almost get a JL 10W7. Go to a local car audio shop and ask about it. Ask them to demo it for you....you will be amazed at what a 10" sub can do. I have a 12W3 and love it....If you talk to the guys at shops you can get em for about $175-200 probably.
