GOD WHY?

Especially if you have 12W3s don't bother. THe installers at my Nashua store made a dual W3 box so f-ing loud it bent the trunk latch on the car!!!

15s are useless unless you only want DB which any 2 12s of similar make should beat. If you are unhappy I would highly suggest building a better box.

What are you going for, DB or SQ?
Is the current box made of 3/4 MDF and braced?
Is is a sealed or ported box?
Do you listen to hip-hop?

its a sealed box made of 3/4 MDF.... It sounds pretty clear, but I guess I want it to be just a "tad" louder.

I'll check the JL volume charts they give to there dealers and see what it says.

What model subs do you have, 4 ohm 8 ohm? I need exact.
Like:
12W3D2
12W3v2D4

What type of music do you listen to?

W3s are all dual voice coils, you have 4 ohm DVC's?

Blue, I am thinking of using the box specs for him that is ported and peaks around 50 HZ. Should make ot to 25 HZ and slam like a bastard at 50!

His amps have totaly adjustable infrasonic filter, subsonic is actauly an incorrect term, so no problem there. I am not refering to the ports tuning but the high spot in the boxes output curve. Basicly in the JL volume charts it will tell you the volume and port size/length for the bo then it will tell you the tuning frequency and the output levels at 20,40,50,60,80,100hz. So you can expect where thebox will peak. Interestingly its not at the ports tuning frequency.

I am experimenting a bit with it right now. I am seriously downgrading my stuff and trying a single 12W0 in a 2.0 cu. ft. ported box. Should kick like a bastard at 80 HZ. The box can take down to 30 HZ and it peaks at 80hz and is only .3db less at 100hz and 60hz.

I definity pefer a more true bass like a 50 HZ hit but I am redoing the car to get ready for sale in the spring. Most of he people around me love either high bass and good fronts or just realy loud bass. Since I have the turbo I wanted to go for a lighter setup so I replaced my fronts and rears with JL Vrs. Adding the W0 and running the fronts and subs off the JL 300/4.

I am getting it into the slap circuit this season and putting it out for $15K.

strokers should be outlawed no need for that much power and SPL, not to mention they just look wierd.

Is it better to use the Subsonic filter when you have more/less power then the woofer is rated at?

I sat down ad figured out how much I have been investing in my car over the last year and I would beable to get an M3 for the same money. I am just wasteing to much on the car.

As for the strockers they aren't really any better then alot of other subs out there. MTX, RF, MMatts all have world level competition DB cars out doing the Strokers. THe louydest car I saw was an MTX van that hit 171.1 at competition with 4 RFL 15's.

At the saem competition a guy with a 15" stroker took 3rd in the SQ competition.
